hi people, I recently had my service done for the first time since I bought my ep3 and 2 new front brake pads. I was charged £250 and when asked what exactly had been done I was met with a very flippant answer of "just an air and oil filter change and some fresh oil along with new spark plugs."
This seemed a little expensive to me, or do I just have to get used to CTR running costs?
 
Where was the service done? Most garages give an itemized bill so you can see where the money is going.

Pads and plugs aren't generally cheap especially if you get it done at a Honda dealer. Main dealer front pads change is £100 iirc.

well there is no invoice as I had it done from 'a friend of a friend' who i certainly wont be using again. the two front pads are redstuff which I bought myself and gave them in to be fitted...
 
4 NGK or equiv sparks at trade price would be around £20
5 litres or whatever amount ep3 takes fully synth £20-30 trade
oil filter £3-5
air filter £3-5

= parts £50-60

labour time to change oil, oil filter, sparks & air filter is about an hour depending on how much arse scratching, cup of teas, time wasters calling up asking questions about HID fitting.

add 30 minutes for your pads and a bit of copper grease.

1.5 hours at £200 quid. £130 an hour labour. got to add their markup in on the parts too so it isn't the end of the world, they are a business afterall. unless its some guy doing it out his mums garage.
 
I popped into Honda today to ask how much a full 100k service was and he said 430 Inc VAT. Think I may be going somewhere else. Only problem I have is there's no Honda specialists out my way. Anyone know a good one around or near hull.
