let's say you just renewed your car insurance policy for a year, then you died.
does the policy immediately become null and void?
what if the executors of the will contact the insurance company and say the policy holder is dead, do they get any money back to the estate for the unused period of time? does/can the policy continue to run against the vehicle until renewal if the executor doesn't want to cancel? what happens if after the policy holder died but before contact was made informing the insurance company of the change in situation a claim needs to be made against that vehicle. eg it was nicked, or somebody was driving it using the third party cover granted by their own personal policy on a different car and they put it in a wall? there are also problems related to that "continuous insurance" law.
thanks.
