You would probably get a 7 day notice to get it rectified and checked at an MOT station.

I find that unlikely.

One of my work collegues was stopped at a roadside check, he told them he was on the way to do a trackday (Castle Coombe)so had his race header fitted for the day. They told him as Nick said above to get it replaced with in 7 days and get it checked at an MOT station.

Whether that is policy or not generaly I am unsure.

hop e so i dont want a 1k fine

how many peps are running race headers without the cats :?:

and how often are these roadside checks :?:

kind of worried now

How much were u bunging the MOT station though :)

Not a penny.

Its all computer automated over here in NI.

As long as emissions are ok thay pass.

They spent a fortune re-kitting the MOT stations and they still cant even tell if theres a cat on the car.

Depends on who is doing the checks and the equipment used.
They can give you a ticket and you need to prove its corrected in 7 days or they could impound your car and crush it at worst

Do hope I'm not stopped. :?

Massive flames at 4000rpm when you lift off is a bit of a givaway.

Boot it past some police next time you see them and you can tell us the answer.

I've a TODA set up and i do sh*t it everytime i'm going past VOSA or traffic cops...but i liked the excuse of going to a track day further up the thread.

Not quite the same but I got pulled for speeding. The Copper comented that it was the exhaust note (Spoon N1 and B-Pipe) that attracted his attention. That was all he said on the matter, no checks on noise limits etc, just a bollocking for speeding

It was one of my collegues who used the trackday excuse. And as I drive past Castle Coombe to work everyday.....it's what I will try if I am ever stopped.
