The Mini is currently in the process of an engine rebuild after spending the majority of this Summer having a respray. The arches are awaiting the next paintshop visit to be colour coded to the roof:

I have a few threads dotted across different sites but try to maintain here with all the updates:

I purchased the car with the all the major work completed but we are still trying to find out some information on some of the parts fitted to the engine.
It doesn't appear to have a standard Civic gear box. Did any of the K20A2 lumps come with a LSD?

Rem, the JDM EP3 Civic Type R was fitted with an OEM LSD - not many floating about though, and even fewer being broken.

Not sure if the DC5 LSD is good to go.

What is the easiest way to tell as the guys who have the mini at the moment have suggested that it may well be an Integra gearbox I have attached?

No worries fella :)

It is more for my curiosity than anything. I'm told that the crank will be back to be by Thursday next week.
The guys doing the rebuild reckon the mini will be ready for pick up midway through the following week in time for the interior carpeting to begin.

Fingers crossed she will be back on the road and ready for another breakfast meet before the Winter takes over!

Look at the code of the intake manifold. There should also be an engine plate - K20A2 is UK and K20A is JDM. Latter has more power and better cams amongst other things.

Is it rude to ask who is doing the engine work Rem?

Not rude at all good sir. All the work is being carried out by Cyclone Motorsport in Wickford. Mike Thomas has been building monster minis for years. He doesn't really have a website but there is a Facebook page with some of his work on:

That blue mini of his is running NOS on a turbo'd cossie lump!

The engine is a K20A2 but it is mated to a gear box with a LSD which I didn't think the K20A2 came with.

Awesome motor.

Integra LSD will fit an EP3 box.

Cheers Stoo that could well be the answer!

Close to me, id love to see this!!!!!

I'm always at the Dog and Partridge on the A128 every first and third Wednesday of the month from 7:30pm onwards.

It it looks like I'll have the PunishR back on the road for the first meet in October. Fingers crossed the weather holds out!

Awesome!

I'm waiting though on a new crankshaft form the United States of slowest postage ever America. Once that is here the mini is only a weeks worth of work to get back on the road; fingers crossed!
