Rubbing wheel

Messages

Hi all,
I have a 02 civic type-r. However my front near side wheel has started
rubbing on the wheel arch when I corner. I have checked the shocker
and spring but all seems to be ok. Can anyone HELP.

Seems a bit strange mate are you lowered?

Maybe the spring has popped out and is resting on the shock or something? One of them must be fcuked if thats happening on the bus like height of the standard car

Bearing in mind the severe consequences which could arise from this situation I suggest an immediate inspection by a dealer or Honda specialist.

Its the standard set up. How would I know if the shocker was fucked by visual inspection.

Is the car 'sat' wrong? Looking like it's leaning? Have a look under the dust cover on the damper to see if the seals have gone (leaking oil).

Also, shove down on the top of your wing, to rock the car a bit, the car should settle down niceley after you stop. If not, prob a knackered damper.

Other than that, just check to see if your arch liner has become dislodged/unfixed anywhere, allowing it to hang down and rub the tyre.

If your in doubt though, just take it to your local garage/dealer/tuner to have a look for you. :)

Thanks alot mate!!!! Il have another look. CHEERS. :D

Even if the damper was knackered would still sit fine as its the spring that supports the cars weight, so i'd be looking for a broken/unseated spring or something else bent or broke....

Aye, yeah, I didn't make that point very well. Cheers Neily! 8)

I went straight from the 'sat' wrong bit, to "How would I know if the shocker was flipped by visual inspection" point
