Serious problem with my S/c ep3

hi all

on monday i took car to get my tein superstreets fitted along witht the EDFC. they got the suspension on and sent it off for aligment, turns out when camber is a 0 the tracking is fine, when they set it up for -1 camber the tracking kicks out.

having spoken to the garage they are saying i also have a DC5 track rod end....

they also saying the rack maybe different, there gonna look into it more tomorrow.

i am pretty stressed out about it at moment, if anyone has info about the track rod ends etc please help.

thanks

chris

As far as I am aware, when you change the camber the toe setting is likely to change too. This is to be expected.

Sounds like you need to go somewhere that actually has half a clue about geo?

yea there evo specialists so they know what there talking about in the camber regard, i was more worried about the DC5 track rod end.

IIRC fitting DC5 track rods cause less bump steer, but I'm sure someone else will confirm. As for the tracking issue, you made it sound like they believe it's a problem and shouldn't be happening.

Being an "evo specialist" means nothing. A major tuning company and "Subaru specialist" managed to land my FD2 in the workshop for 3 weeks because they thought "they knew what they were doing"

Fitting DC5 track rod ends allows DC5 coilovers to be fitted.

Changing the camber will affect the toe. Take the car somewhere else, like TGM who actually know WTF they are talking about.

Chris I have a spare EP3 steering rack and track rod end if you wanted to borrow them to compare them to yours (you are Chris from Bristol)???

i think they do have a issue with the camber and toe, but not to sure. i understand the tracking will be out if a go to - camber, but should it knock the tracking out alot. sorry if acting dumb but i dont really enderstand all the toe and camber set up etc..

all i know is i asked for low as poss with fast road set up. and i guess its the tracking thats causing a issue.

if the track rod end is not a issue thats put my mind at rest a little.

i have had no luck with this CTR. things gotta start going right soon. lol

yea to be honest i wish i had used TDI or TGM. the car had k sport collies on before the superstreets, so unsre if they were for dc5.

Neither do they, it seems. It's fine that you don't know, you're not expected to.

For a decent fast road setup they should be changing the toe angle as well as the camber, so it shouldn't matter that it needs adjusting relative to before the camber change.

hi all

just to update, car now back with me, it appears the steering rack is still not 100% correct so i am gonna take a ep3 rack to the garage and we are gonna compare it. but as for the superstreets and the EDFC. i love it. it feels much more " together". at moment the EDFC is set on 8 at front and 8 at back. but i wil adjust as i get used to the new set up.
