Spec 4 trauma.

Well, after having the BC Spec IV on for around 3 weeks, and enjoying every minute of one of the best systems I have seen or heard. So practical...it has now been fekked :(

Driving home down a country road near my house to meet the awaiting Foxy and Zeff, after taking Sharky for a spin, I noticed an object in the middle of the road, unfortunately there was no way to avoid as traffic was coming in the opposite way, and i saw it just to late due to vehicles infront.

I drove over what was half a housbrick sitting on end

'BANG' Oooh that had to hurt.

Shure enough when I got home the 'B' pipe had been crushed like a coke can :( :(

It has not been ruptured but it is in a hell of a mess. I am going to have to get iether a new B pipe or somehow get a specialist to weld in a new bit of pipe. Such a shame as the quality of the system is so good, though being so light the stainless walls are quite thin, though I doubt any system would have survived that.

Oh and sitting in traffic it does'nt half make a racket where it is hitting the floorpan at idle.

grrrrrrrrr.

Sorry to hear that mate, hopefully you'll be able to sort it. I scraped my Fujitsubo on my sisters driveway the other day, luckily no damage. :x

Mate

Sorry to hear about your accident, but on the up side it only damaged the exhaust, it did no damage to anything else. Some of us were not that lucky and put several holes in the floorpan of car, and ripped out some wiring, damaged the subframe, etc etc, £3k later.

indeed, lcky it missed the sump!

G, can still picture it now and recall the sickening thud... :( There's not a single thing you could have done about it. Not much consolation I know, but it could have been far worse given the way the housebrick was on end.

I hope you can get it sorted/replaced quickly and cheaply. :smt023

Bugger G, something whacked mine this week but it seems ok underneath, as you say though with the thinner walls it probably makes it even more prone :(

Hope you get it sorted okay

Sorry to hear about this, hope you get it fixed easily. Surprised it didn't take your front lip off though tbh? :?

I know, I sit 30mm lower, however the exhaust seems to sit even lower than normal due to the header.

And yeh Paul....could have been worse....:D

Gutted for you G.
As SpaceMonkey said, go to H&S in Basildon and they can fix it or weld a new pipe. They do top jobs for sure.

Think I may have to just do that, though TBH I never realised H&S was in Basildon m8

See if they can do me a good deal for some coverage ;) :D

G, no luck with BC then?

Was horrible looking at it when you had got back. Hope it gets sorted and doesn't cost you your new 360

G thats crappy news, I guess a Poweflow dealer or an exhaust place could weld u a new section in if its that fooked.

Gutted mate as seems a nice system to be honest

It is a great system m8, though does seem to loose a 'smidge' of power at the top end compared to the top gear. But that was a small price to pay for the general day to day convenience of having a quiet system when you wanted it to be...and loud when you had a mind.

I got to say with reading all this about TODA and all the problems people having, I am still glad that I have my trust Top Gear exhaust still on, been on there 3 years now and still going strong, only problem I had was abracket came loose, that just had to be replaced and that was all.

All in all a great system that has caused me no problems

I do like the look of the BC though

Pete, I really enjoy my Top Gear aswell as I like the all round sound. Foxy isnt a fan of it on long journeys but I am used to it. G's BC on the other hand, wow. Quiet till you really want it to be loud and it sounds absolutely brilliant when giving it some

Well I have had a chat to Infinity Exhausts in Bristol, and I am going to pop along to them next week so they can (hopefully) repair my Spec IV.

They were recommended by Akina on here, hope they do a good job :D
