Ste's new motor

Lol I had a random one in the GTR before I had the Power FC fitted.

Nice surprise mind having a £1000 Amuse ECU in there.

Shame it wasn't re-mappable, it's a fixed unit, like the Mugen and Spoon ones you can get.

I sold it for £500 to a JDM collector in the end.

I know they don't do it for the F20c so I would just make a loom myself, I wasn't aware of the bugs so I'll look into that!

I've been mega busy over the last few days, whilst having the alignment done a camber bolt was seized so I've replaced the bushes with power flex ones (rebooked for next Thursday for alignment) I've also fitted the new stoptech discs and ferrodo ds2500 pads and painted the rear discs that where looking abit rusty.

Right, been a busy bunny today!

Cleaned all the heavy brake dust off the track wheels and fitted them to the car with the R888's,
gave it a quick wash outside as it was filthy, removed the seats and hoovered/cleaned the interior,
mounted the go pro camera, had the alignment done to what i hope to be a decent setup.

Got the alignment done at liverpool ball joint centre, service was fantastic and good equipment (hunter laser)

Wheel alignment Camber
Front before −0°82'
Front after −1°00'
Rear before −2°40'
Rear at after −2°00'

Caster
Front before 5°00'
Front at adjustment 5°60'

Toe-in
Front before 0°68
Front after 0°00
Rear before 0°25 each side
Rear after 0°30 each side

Feels great up to now, but i'm on track at oulton park tomorrow so shall see.

So all ready for track, will try get some decent video footage :-D

What do you think of think the intake man ?

Definately a performance increase, as 'm now pulling away from my friends lotus exige

So as i said i went to Oulton park 17th feb, it was soaking in the morning but started to dry ou in the afternoon.
I was very pleased with the current setup and found the car to be much more planted and controlable on the limit.

Had a good play with a new shape Audi RS6 V10, boxster S track car, lotus elise, lotus exige and a ktm xbow amongst others. I did get a few videos but i kept forgetting to turn the camera on

I used a full set of halfords cheap **** rear brake pads on the day, and ended up driving home with the rear pads on the metal  So as soon as i got home i ordered some stoptech rear discs and ferodo DS2500 rear pads to match the front.

A few pics from the day........

I'll pop a vid up when i get a chance :-D

Good vid there mate. Always love to see some aggressive gear changes!

Thanks mate, slow gear changes are useless!

Well, as i said above my rear brakes where dead after the track day. I made the stupid mistake of just chucking some rear halfords pads on and they didnt even last one track day!

So, when i got home i ordered some rear ferodo DS2500 and stoptech discs to match the front. They came today so i went ahead and installed them after work

Boring, but essential

I have bought another set on new wheels  (thats 4x set of wheels i have now  )

They are another set of OEM S2000 17's like my original silver wheels, only these have been powder coated black by thewheelspecialist in manchester and i must say the finish pretty much perfect :D
I also got some front bridgestone potenza RE05 tyres as these will be my daily driver wheels and i'll keep the silver ones for track rims with the R888's.

I then decided i needed a de-cat, so i ordered a 70mm Berk industries one with built in cel fix

Really love what you're doing with this Ste. :) Some H's on those centre-caps would look great. This one's clearly a keeper, you seem to have had it so much longer than the cars before it.

Thanks buddy :) not planning on selling anytime soon.

My berk 70mm decat arrived today so I shall be fitting it this weekend, I hope it doesn't sound raspy and ****!

Some more progress, i decided to install some brake ducting as this will help my brake life on track, i'm hoping it will stop me warping brakes and increase pad life. Since theres no 'off the shelf' kits available i custom made one, i wanted it to look as factory OEM as possible......pics.

Air pump in the way, so i removed that (had to put a resistor in to avoid engine light)
This runs when the car is cold, to help warm up the cat to reach emissions sooner, wont be needing that then...

Just received some Ferodo DS3000 brake pads so will give them a try over DS2500

Hardtop off for the summer :)

AAa014.jpg

I also just ordered another set of R888's for the front track rims

Nice ingenuity there man.. I look forward to hearing how the ducting works. DC5 has them as standard they come through the front of the arch liners..
