Thanks, I know Cox well but if I do get them done it will be done by my usual Honda main dealer as they have looked after me well.
I've had the valve clearances done 3 times in my ownership and oil changes every 10k miles (Honda branded & Castrol oil) & plugs done twice, owned since 40k miles bought in 2019. All work been done by Honda. Car has always been run on Tesco Momentum and has been remapped for about 40k miles peak boost 1.7 bar, and I've not been easy on it. Absolutely zero carbon build up on the inlet valves I asked for this to be checked when the chain and valve clearances were last done. On the original clutch and its still going strong even with the map!
I was getting a tiny bit of a rattle from the chain at startup if the car had been left for a few days but after the new chain it went away completely.
It's only ever let me down once and that was due to a cracked plastic housing where the upper coolant hose attaches to the engine, which led to a coolant loss on the motorway, happened in winter and I felt the heaters go cold so managed to stop before the car really overheated and warped the head. Other than that this car has really soaked up the miles, I took my EP3 to 230k miles before I upgraded to an FK2 and I plan on taking this to 200k too! Highest mileage FK2 FTW! I'm already on 102k...
It's never consumed any oil and never smoked on startup or on full chat, previous 1st owner tracked the car too! Im the second owner.
Its my rear shocks that feel tired so was debating to just get all 4 done at the same time Honda say they are fine yet, and the car will throw an error if there's a problem with the suspension. I probably will just stick with OEM I reckon.
