I want to look into getting a conversion done on the car.

Does anyone know a reputable tuner who knows what there doing with regards compatability/reliability of Forced induction?

Want some quotes etc, and if it'll work and if anything else needs uprating.

Thinking about driving to TTS conversion (blowme) but wanted to see if there was any local tuners before i go all that way.

Btw, you cannot talk me out of this :p It's just an idea i want to cover

Talk to TDi in Thurrock. They are about the best and most highly regarded specialists in the country and easier for you to get to.

They did Stanwans civic before other companies even thought about the cars. 8)
Maybe you can persuade Mark to shoehorn the racecar Turbo NSX engine in.

Get a K20 conversion?

To be honest it's more hassle than it's worth, easier IMO to just get something faster. Cheaper aswell

No offence mate, but it's a waste of money imo.

If you have the original parts, but yours back to standard & either keep the bits that will fit on the new Civic you buy or sell them to get the bits that will fit the Civic you buy.

Hope that made sense?

If you upgrade the engine in yours, you'll need to upgrade suspension, brakes & allsorts of other small items that will mount up.

But hey, thats just my opinion.....end of the day it's your money & will be your car

I thought i made this clear in the first post, i dont want your opinions, just wanted where to go to find out about it.

If i want to get one, i will.

K20 conversion is pointless, as i can buy a CTR cheaper than doing all the work for mine.

Cheers TP, will do

All in favour of doing something different Dynax, but in this case I have to agree with Spacemonkey. I think your Civic is cool as it is. Wait till you come to change your car and go for someting that would provide a better base for work.

I know what everyone thinks, but i just want to enquire about this.

No good telling me not to do it, as i simply will if i want to

We are sure you will. ANd we will still try and give you sound advice.

"Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't."

Let him go for it.

We're not paying for it at the end of day, he is, so is shouldn't really affect us in anyway.

If you wanna make your unique mate then go for it, and don't let anyone stand in your way.

I just want to find out ideas/prices etc.

Everytime i make a thread like this, i get nothing but comments like these, which doesnt help :?

Just want name of tuners who can help.

I'm sure you could bolt a vortex supercharger or fit a turbo kit easy enough. It just depends upon how much your willing to pay and the gains you will get and whether you think it worth it.

Look at it this way. Even if you can shoehorn a K20 engine into your car on paper it will still remain the car you brought but with an engine conversion. Your premium wll rise yes but you will still heve a 1.4 or whatever it is and be paying a loaded premium for that group car. 8) $$$ 8)

I'd rather have a fun car to drive, than a faster car (if that makes sense). I'd love to have a supercharged 1.4. Not looking for mad performance, but something like ~150 bhp sounds a good idea to me. Its running (what i should think) just over 100 now, as it ran 97 with cat + stock airbox.

I'd rather go the SC route, but just wondering on wether my internals are up to it. Hence why i want to find someone in the know who can tell me if its possible and price. Any idea who fit the vortex TP?

Why not take a different approach then Dynax. Matt from J Tuner drives around (whilst his main car is having work done) in his Missus Mitsi Colt. It is 1.6 and is pushing ooooh around 100 bhp (if he is lucky).

Still that did not stop him from getting the Odd M3 and Porker Blue flagged at a recent track day :D

I am all for you upping the power, don't get the wrong idea I was not trying to discourage you. Having said that, It will still not stop me from putting in my few pence worth. And for me a well set up car, well driven can give more fun and still embarrass more powerfull machinery.

So I would, lighten the car. Sort the chassis to make it stiffer. Uprate the suspension (but making sure it is still complient). Good brakes, and then do the odd track day perhaps. Improving the most important thing, the person behind the wheel.

I mean I have at least 80 bhp up on Hasnic, but his car is set up well and he is the better driver. If you see what I am saying.

Anyhoo if you are stil determined I'd go to iether TGM who Nick uses. They can do most anything by all accounts. They also set up track cars so now how to get the best out of what you have. Failing that you know the tuners that people use on here. So stick with the proven tuners that have results and happy customers.

Cheers G.

The car has been stripped already, and has coilovers going on within the next week or so. It also has DC Sports Rear Tie / CTR Anti-Roll bars. And hopefully soon a front and rear strut.

I have recently found out that there is a big brake kit for mine aswell, which is well affordable giving me 305mm discs

this would all be done if i was getting a supercharger

I just want to find out what can be done to my car performance wise, how reliable (i.e. will internals take it) and then if its affordable, proceed. If not, its time to change projects

Altho i've had extensive experience on track in karting form, the car will be going on a few trackdays this year with me behind the wheel. Im a very enthusiastic driver, and love every form of my car. Tuition will be taken, and i want to improve as a driver

Dynax - Without this sounding nasty or anything why would you want to do this?

One minute on MSN you are saying your getting a CTR next year etc, The next you are creating these wonderful threads.

If I was you I would stick with the car the way you have it now, It does look great!!. Leave the engine as it is as you will only create nightmares/cost for yourself when you come to sell it.

Like I said its not a dig, just a piece of friendly advice.

You can of course take it or leave it :D
