Been thinking of creating a build thread for a while now but never got the chance to do so .
I got my car on the 6th of May from an admin of the civiclife forum (PooM) who had a very looked after DC5. Only thing wrong with the car I'd say was that the drivers seat mesh was slightly damaged (nothing major). Oh and it also had the wrong size tyres on (thinner than normal) but that hasn't bothered me much as I am still using them. Might as well let them wear out
Mileage was about 80k, but that didn't put me off as I know these cars last if they've been looked after.
So here are a few pictures from when I got the car.
The car came with a Kakimoto N1 exhaust system, TopFuel induction kit, Competition Stage 1 Clutch, ES Motor Mounts, Tein Coilovers and a JVC double din stereo.
However, two months or so after the purchase the clutch bearing went so I had to change the clutch. I didn't really like the stage 1 clutch anyway. Not very suitable for London traffic (which is also my daily car). So I chose to just get a Honda OEM clutch and got on with getting it in.
After the clutch change, the car felt much better! Felt so smooth. When I done this I thought I may as well give the car a service. So new clutch fluid (Honda MTF), Fuchs Race Oil (5w-30), new spark plugs, the lot! Followed by a journey to Manchester
Lovely.
Then I wrapped my roof in carbon fiber after seeing a members 5 on here which had the roof wrapped.
(Car was a little dirty there)
I also fitted some interior lights for the footwell and a 'drift charm' with a switch at the front near the steering wheel which has a red led when it is on. Drift charm looks amazing at night. ALSO got a new number plate as I wanted a TEG number plate and I think I found a pretty good one
R444 TEG!
Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the interior lights, but I'm sure you guys can imagine how they look. Pretty happy with all the wiring as it is all hidden.
Also got some red nut lugs for the ride as I wanted more red/white colour combo going on in the car.
(The abover are just some pictures from South Mimms in October).
Now, FRSU was on my list for a while and it was about time. After meeting Meister at South Mimms in October I decided to go for the CyberSpeed camber arms.
Went and got FRSU done at TGM. Well chuffed with the outcome. Handles even better!!!
Got some bits and bobs from dave7368 (RBC ported with a 70mm tb and a DC Sports Exhaust Manifold).
Also got the k100 from ollydc5 which is previously mapped for an rbc and ported 70mm tb along with a hks induction kit.
Just last week I fitted the RBC and TB (used a hondata heatshield intake manifold gasket as you can see in the image below). It isn't mapped yet so the gains are limited. Will be getting it mapped once I have fitted the DC exhaust manifold and got the custom b-pipe which I have in mind (hopefully within the next month).
After reading up on a engine bay detailing thread on here I also decided to give the bay a quick wash as I realised it was pretty dirty when I fitted the RBC. Very happy with the results
That is it so far. Still to fit the DC Sports Exhaust Manifold and get the custom b-pipe (un-silenced) to go with the kakimoto n1 back box followed by a map by either Romain or Mase.
Will keep you guys updated from now on. Hope you like the build. =]
