whats that noise?

has anybody got any idea's, i own a ctr nhb on a 02, a sort of ticking noise has just started latley under the bonet but when i push the clutch down it goes, thought i would ask before i take it in without a clue what it is n get robbed, cheers...

Possibly the clutch release bearing if it goes away when you press the clutch.

I take it the noise is constant and at idle.

Is it coming from under the car or in the bay?

I know heat sheilds have a tendency to make a bit of a rattle.

its coming from under the bonet and also at idle

it is the clutch release bearing, getting sorted next wednesday on warranty..
