Where abouts on/in the car did you find it? Seat rail/adjuster cover perhaps?

Looks like the cover for the seat rails, they cover the bolts where they attach to the floor.

Think I found it in the rear passenger footwell but lived in the boot ever since.

Check around the seat rails on both sides to see if anything looks visibly missing. If you can see bolts that aren't colour coded or it looks a little scruffy, the cover probably goes over it to tidy things up a bit.

It's off the rear seats, fold them forward and it covers the two bolts that hold the bracket onto the larger portion of the seat.
