Why are the so "Specialists" always double the price.

So last weekend I renewed my EP3 insurance.

£840 fully comp, 2yrs NCB, 20 years old, 1st named driver, keeper etc with Elephant.
They are aware of the mods as well.

All my friends said ring Chris Knot, Prestige, Adrian Flux, Green light etc etc

Tried them all, even with out mods, most of them wouldn't touch me.

Its because the specialist companies who offer the cheaper rates only do so for older drivers who have experience of performance cars.

Also I would check the small print of your policy to see if you have modified for modified or standard for modified.
