Made in Germany - My Rotrex'd EP3

Messages

Hi Guys,

my name is André. I'm from Germany and Honda fan. I actually drive an EP3 Civic. I've bought it in 2009 in OEM-Trim and made some changes till now. The Car is MY 2005 Facelift.

First I will show you some pictures and facts about the car. If there are some questions feel free to ask. I will answer as good as it gets, English is not my mother tongue.

Back in 2009 it looks like a OEM Civic with white powdered Enkei wheels.

Here some pics with same parts and mods.

Tegiwa exhaust manifold. Needed a 200 cpsi catalyst for the German TÜV.

First dyno with N/A setup (exhaust manifold, exhaust, intake mod, no ecu-tuning)

Some HIFI stuff.

New wheels and brakes. Not much space between calipers and wheels .

New brakes in 2013. D2 8-pot 330mm.

Premier edition Recaros. This seats were not available in Germany, but I think this are the best seats for an EP3.

The highlight was the Rotrex supercharger. This is the TTS Kit stage 2 with intercooler.

Just some pics...

... and here some videos:

Speedometer run at German Autobahn. There are no speed limits.

Little Comparision with Audi RS4 (440BHP). No illegal street race, just a little comparison at German Autobahn.

Last dyno in October 2013:

Drag racing powered by German Television. Yes, it's me and my Civic. :D

I hope you like it. Best Regards.

Welcome mate, very nice EP3 with a good choice of mods.

plus your English is better than my German haha.

Welcome to TRO my friend, absolutely amazing video and one hell of a project. I would certainly pay just to experience the thrill of being a passenger. How much torque you pushing. What was the offset of those wheels? They look well nice. Look forward to hear more.

Thanks for the positive feedback. :)

Your welcome for a test drive. Let me know when you are in Germany. ;)

The wheel dimensions are 8x17". Offset is 40mm.

Nice, what power does it make now

The car pushes 328 BHP and 287 NM (212 LB FT) @12.5 psi. I think it is possible to reach more power with a better exhaust gas silencer. The bastuck exhaust uses a silencer with chambers which was okay for the N/A-setup, but it's impediment with the Rotrex setup.

That's very kind of you. I am doing a turbo project so whenever you happen to be in the UK, you can test mine as well

Very nice car mate. Did you have the seats imported over from the UK? And why is your stereo panel so much different to mine are the UK spec ones different?

That's a good deal. ;)

Yes, the seats are an UK imports.

This is the ordinariy stereo panel in German EP3s just painted in black. I think the uk EP3s has got automatical a/c, right? That was not avaiable for german EP Civics. The three rotary bottons are connected via bowden cable to the blower unit like in the 90s . My car has an manually a/c, but this was really extra equipment for the car.

Really do like your car you got many more plans for it

There are a just a few plans, but only small things. I'm very happy with the car at the moment and won't spend to much money in the car.

The first update for next year are new rear lights and a new exhaust silencer. No more chamber silencer now a uni muffler. I hope to get more power thereby.

"old school" rear lights

The black hose is a swap part for the upper radiator hose. I would get more space for the hose between the air hoses of the air box.

If you don't mind me asking, What airbox and scoop is that? Where did you get it? and How much was it?

The airbox is from FC Design, a small company in Belgium. It's not very famous but did a good job and has a very good air flow. It's made of gfc with a cfc cover and it fits very good. You can use the OEM mounting points.

The airbox costs 400 Euros and a scoop costs 100 Euros. The scoop in the pictures was made by me, but the FC design scoop is similar.

The scoop on the homepage is the old version with the small output for using stock hose to the airbox. There is a another available with a 80mm output for bigger hose.

Here is a small comparison of the FC design airbox, the stock airbox and the Idol airbox (German tuner).

Quality is very good. And the airflow is impossible. I made a comparison of FC airbox and no airbox: The boost and AFR was the same!!!
