Ok its no type R, but probably the closest you could get to one in EG form!

I could bore you wiht a long drawn out build up - but i wont!

Looking very nice there fella.

Getting the valvetrain fitted and then remapping will fully open up the potential of your mods'. Very impressive. What sort of power figures are you wishing to achieve?

Welcome to TRO. :)

Aha, Si's brother...

Welcome to TRO and a very nicely modded car you have there. Look forward to hearing more about it when you've had the TGM makeover and got the wheels pointing in the right direction!

Woo - thanks all for the kind comments!

Power wise i'm unsure yet, got lots of thoughts about where to go with it - supercharger was tempting as was a hybrid n/a build. And until sunday was VERY tempted to purchase a Skyline!

It was last rolling roaded at 145WHP, but that was a while back and since then its had a number of changes, so i'd say its a good 150 at the wheels currently. I would like to be able to get the magic 200(fly) but im not chasing numbers; once its mapped and set up correctly with the rest of the bits would be a nice to see 160/165 at the wheels.

Basically, i just want a nice fast road set up without it going bang every few thousand miles. Its only just on 59,000 miles so the engines still got plenty of life in it yet :)

Just got back from TGM, so we shall see what Tom recommends once he's worked his magic on it!

I can honestly say this is a great little car, cant wait to see it put through its paces at North Weald

actually you stand corrected the crx SiR and eg civic SiR II's as well as the del sol SiR are actually very early type R models... think about it twin cam vtec, lighter bodies stiffer suspension... this was the bread and butter of the type r thing yes the nsx was the first official type r but the SiR's are actually like testers to see if the type r formula was going to sell economy cars they were only softer than type R's cause honda didn't want to push things too far too fast... so consider yourself the owner of a pre-type R type R

your car seems to look better everytime i see it!

quick question where you get that plaster sticker? i got a big scratch on my car & wana cover it up lol

Heehee, cheers bud. I liek to think its evolved quite a bit since i first got it :)

The sticker came from a nice chap on the ITR-DC2 forum by the name of "nickworth" - i highly recommend him, he also did my DOHC VTEC decals on the sides. Very cheap, and damn good quality too!

And moving on now, update time!

Ive been a bad man and gone shopping today. I could have gone more crazy but decided to reign myself in as these are the "necessary" parts.

First up, a new front lip to replace my scraggily painted SiR one.
Not keen on many of the options for an EG apart from the OEM one...
But i have gone for one of these bad boys, keeps with the lines well and gives the car a slightly more aggressive front end in my opinion!

WW RS front lip.

Then i thought i would get a few final bits out the way prior to the hondata mapping session! I will be taking the car to Artech, need to speak to Anouar at somepoint in the not too distant future!

New shiny radiator, should help keep things cool as it gets pretty hot in the bay!
koyo-radiator-1.jpg

and high pressure rad cap, just for good measure.
koyo-radiator2.jpg

Then i fancied going for the daddy of B Series induction, i have only ever heard good things about this dogs danglies piece of kit. AEM has been all good, but this is hopefully goign to give me a bit more throttle response :)

One ITG Maxogen Carbon Air box
itg_kit.jpg

And to complement it one of these, a snazzy J's Racing carbon fibre induction scoop for the bumper

which looks like this on the car... (picture is of my mate Rogers car)

Front bumper will be being replaced shortly, but i decided since the crappy winter weather is fast approaching i dont want to get a nice freshly painted bumper covered in stone chips! So just going to keep the current one on for now.

I'm ALMOST happy with it.

All it needs now is...
- Front bumper spray
- Rear lip
- Carbon Boot
- Hondata remap :D

And then shes done until i decide to go a bit further and head for new engine/gearbox territory.

Nearly forgot to add i also inherited some presents from my good chum Adam earlier this week... all i will reveal is
151.jpg

Although they dont sit quite as low as my ITR recaros did, they are spot on and still comfy and supportive! My harnesses need replacing soon, also going to buy some new gauges i think, fed up of my little dangly oil temp one!

Thoughts, opinions, criticsm all welcome. Thanks!

I have the J's racing induction port thingy coming from Japan as we speak, will be fitted with a M&M honda induction :)

Anyway your car rocks

Thanks! Cool - so yours is "proper" JDM then

I got lucky with mine, called Sumo Power yesterday (UK J's Racing distributor) and they had just got in a fresh delivery container! And it only had one carbon scoop, bit chuffed as i'm impatient at the best of times and didnt fancy having to ship in a jap one!

Parts should arrive today, and hopefully be on by the end of the week.

I went for the boring black intake. I'd have to get a carbon bonnet if I got the carbon intake and im not doing all that again! lol

I went rom Bazza at Vtec Direct and normally you have to wait as teh parts come to order from Japan but his prices are

Do me a favour m8 please, i am replacing my windows with pollycarbonate items, now i have the rear window wiper, i need to get rid of it, how have you got yours?

could you send me or post some pics of the inside of your rear windscreen up close so i can see how your's is ?

Ok been a while since its been updated.

So heres a little one.

I want to start out with a few thank you's. My Bro (Si3242) and his girlfriend (Lottie) for a fantastic birthday pressie, Stew for sorting my clutch issues with little to no notice, Adam for the p/chops and listening to my whinging, Cheby for the use of his camera and also listening to my bitch whining, Pete for the stupid phone calls of me giggling like a bitch; and of course the HOT staff!

As some of you know I was bought a HOT activity day at North Weald by my big bro and his girlfriend. A few others on the CSC site went, as did a load of EP3's, DC5's and some oddballs! Mini Cooper S, Clio 182, mk1 Escort rs2000, Pulsar, some toyota's and a spearmint rhino's Corvette!!!

Anyway, awesome day, learned a fair bit - the most important thing being you do not need uber power to go fast! I freely admit to being a poor driver but i think it was fairly respectable compared to the newer ep3's and dc5's!

Apart from killing my tyres, fading brakes and using a lot of fuel, decided to avoid the m25 rush hour traffic and do some shopping in Bluewater. Got back in the car, went to drive home and couldnt change gear! Clutchless gearchanges are for the lose! Turns out i had no fluid in the sod due to a leaky slave cylinder (which i had suspencted for a while) but got it home without too much drama and Stew (FTW Performance) replaced it for me Monday morning! Star!

Haven't had much chance to clean it lately either as im blitzing work 6 days a week! but Sunday was a nice day so i got the Meg's out and got to work.

Thanks to my good pal cheby for the pics, although we had some technical difficulty as the camera was playing up!

My hard earned HOT sticker, and carbon fibres...

The scoop of glory, and i think my bonnet needs some minor adjustment

Money shot! :D I'm thinking of having a new camcover done with some airbrushing :)

A couple with Cheby Chase

IMGP2967.jpg

And finally - a better pic of the "new look" front end. I will be getting a replacement bumper/lip sometime early next year.
Emo_4.jpg

Next up - Remap with Hondata, hopefully before the end of January! :D Should be pretty much there engine wise now, wiht a respectable power figure too.

In the pipeline - 5 stud conversion... But i am torn on the two options! Decisions, decisions!

1 = EK9
102-1.jpg

2 = 98 Spec DC2
103.jpg

Thanks for reading.

Harv - used some tiger seal mate, althoguth it was great funa nd a bit messy getting it to stick!

RoBoT - just remove the wiper motor and leave the bracket on, it will be fine. I used a bolt and some silicone sealant to block it off, just to stop any potential leaks.

Sorry to hear about your clutch issues mate.

The car is looking good :)

As for wheels I think the EK9 are nicer personally, but thought about them in gunmetal colour or you wanting to stay with white?
I think a gunmetal colour will look good against the CF.
