Admiral wont insure baffled sump!

Messages

well, just got off the phone with Admiral insurance trying to declare my latest mod's

after a hefty conversation trying to explain what a limited slip diff is for, I then turned trying to explain the baffled sump. this then led to her putting me on hold to discuss with the underwriting team (as she didnt have a clue what I was on about!)
upon her return, I am informed that they are going to have to cancel my insurance policy as the parts I have fitted indicate that I am doing track days, and that they dont insure for them.
I tried to explain that I was getting seperate insurance for these days, but they still refuse to keep my policy running!

Im half way through my 2nd year with them aswell, so stuck with just 1 years NCB for my new policy!

Anyways, rang Neil @ Greenlight and got a quote for £698 for 12 months (which is just £38 more than my previous 10 month policy with Admiral) and thats with everything declared, down to my HID kit & bush kit!
It was actually great speaking with him, as he knew about everything I was declaring, and even made positive comments as he'd had some of them on his EP3 :D

So just incase anyones thinking of going with Admiral, dont bother lol

I'm with Admiral, they're cretins.

Moved house to a safer area, policy went up. Why? Oh wait, is it because you heavily discount on comparison sites so any opportunity you have to claw anything back you take - even if it is contra to common sense and insurance criteria?

Looking forward to the call when I change the Teg to an EP3. Civic is a lower insurance group, so in theory the cost should drop. I just know they're going to try and pull a fast one, so I'm going to cancel my policy and demand the refund back even if it's a pittance.

There fly cvnts. My insurance was up 19th of feb done online comparison kwik fit were the cheapest at £390 one off payment but i am allready with kwik fit paying £900 for the year so i phoned them didn't mention the online quote and they tried to put it up to £1100 one off payment so i then mentioned the online quote but i didn't mention it was from kwik fit. she went away came back with with £450 one off payment.

So i told her just to cancel it when it ran out and took out a new policy with the same company.

No issue with either modification, feel free to give us a call for a comparison against the prices you have had. We'd be very happy to help.

You are welcome to call us on 03303 331250/ 01707 642552

If you have a baffled sump then you have most likely spend a fair amount of £ on other mods, we may be able to look at an agreed valuation for you.

We specialise in modified car insurance:

Thanks

thats stupid why even declare like they would even know lol

Because even the slightest undeclared mod can void your insurance making you an illegal driver. Why risk it? If you crash and injure someone and the insurance company find out you haven't declared something, they will do their best to get out of paying for anything. And the Police will take great pleasure in prosecuting you too.

bowman let this be a lesson to you.

never declare mods you can't see or any fat bored 40 yo insurance assessor with a clip board in the rain will have to get on his knees to figure out have been fitted.

sorry but anything thats costs a couple hundred quid, regarless of its function, is getting declared!

As Ollie has said, it didnt cost me anymore to declare everything from my springs, to camber arms, and baffled sump... only parts which increased power increased the premium, so why not?

As above. If everything is not insured then you're a fool.

Everything on mine, even to a prefacelift to facelift seat swap is declared. It costs me no more and means no one can screw me over.

What's more puzzling is that lack of obvious puns involving disbelief at insurance policies and the fact they are regarding a baffled sump.

Ludicrous.

I was going to pump this dry on the next pickup, but we're cornering heavily into very slick territory.
