Hi guys,
spent friday with Tim at his premises in Gosport giving my Civic some much needed Flex loving - due to only having a day to complete it, and the fact that the car is used daily, on track, lives outside 24/7 etc we weren't aiming for perfection. a massive improvement was made nonetheless :)
apologies for poor pic quality - all taken on phone, Tim also took some which one of us will add to this as and when :thumb:

products etc..

Kranzle PW
foam lance
various brushes including envy detailing ones
Envy iron awe
Envy shampoo
Envy bubbly jubbly snow foam
Artdeshine claycloth
Envy filler killer - no fillers used here ;)
3m sungun
brinkmann
LED torch
LED worklight (on tripod)
Flex rotaries with annoying cables (x2)
various pads - 3m, Meguiars

various Liquid Elements cloths
Wolfs trim coat
Bouncers capture the rapture - roof

I will be keeping an eye on the durability of the waxes used and will update this thread accordingly..

massive thank-you to Tim again his help and hospitality today, cannot recommend him enough tbh :)

Kev

Car looks great kev, the first time I used my clay cloth I found it marred my paint quite badly. I don't think I bedded it in enough on the glass though.

clay....cloth?? What is this and when did that happen?

Been around for a while, I think Chem Guys were the first with one on the market. Unfortunately they marr like crazy, I personally haven't been sold on them. Their main bonuses is longevity and the fact that if you drop it, you can just rinse it off.

I'll just stick with my mild clay bar and ObliTarate.

They're raved about on DW, but like danger said when I used mine it marred quite badly but your supposed to spend quite a bit of time bedding them in and I only done it for a minute or so on my windscreen. Found out after that this isn't anywhere near enough. They do cut the time taken to clay down massively though. Got mine from my autosmart rep if your interested in giving one ago, apparently they're on eBay aswell.

thanks guys :)
yep I wouldn't use one on soft Jap paint unless its being machine polished afterwards - the cloth I used has been well bedded in and still marred badly with plenty of lube and no added pressure in use. if the car is being machined anyway then the time saved almost makes up for the marring - which is easily removed from Jap paint with a finishing pad and polish usually.
always using a tar remover and an iron fallout remover before hand makes things a bit easier too.

Thanks, have since traded the car in..
This is far from a 'valet' and its the how long is a piece of string question tbh

I think the marring happens when claying your car, if not enough lubrication is used or the clay itself isn't any good, it can leave behind dull marks on the paintwork which are a nightmare to remove. Usually polished out most of the time as can be hard to remove.

Correct me if im wrong though.
