Edy's DC5 Build up Thread..Carbon wrap page 10 !

Thanks for the kind comments :)

Bigperm, Ill help with your Bolsters pal no worries ;)

Hey Edy - didn't realise the FD2 had gone. Good to hear you are getting on well with the DC5, I nearly bought one with the money I had left over but considered I'd 'peaked' on the FD2. Good job on the build up, mint looking DC5 - best colour as well! Personally I will be running one motor for a while now so looks like the derv will be flying solo for a while.

I predict you will spend the money you banked on mods :twisted:

Giger I aim to keep the other 9k in the bank, its protected by the wife ;o

I'd Love to Harv, but my wife has only 5-6 weeks left of her due date & if that lil one pops out while I'm away I'm sure she'd divorce me

Thanks bud ;)

**A small update**

I had my MTF changed the weekend, as I found from 1st to 2nd quite notchy when cold..
One of the Technicians was letting it drain & guessed there was only around a litre in there !!!

After some new MTF in the G/box the results were amazing, gear change now is smooth & almost fall into gear without any effort :)

I recommend anyone thinking about this to do it as it does make a difference.

Plus I also had a 'proper Drive' in the 5 around the twistys with some fellow Honda lovers, I must say the 5 does feal rather good considering there were 3 EK9's in convoy & a DB8...
I love that Spoon N1 :D

Get a FRSU and it will handle even better bud. We'll have a good ol' drive at the end of the month.

Looks great. Love DC5's have such a soft spot for them, hence having had 3. Great car.

Love the work your doing to it, looks very very very clean.

If you need any info on it, regards mods (ive tried pretty much every conbination) gimmie a shout :D

Tony my next mission will be to get her down a bit, maybe spoon progressive springs or Eibachs !
Then the obvious FRSU with some direction from you ;)

Maybe you could also point me in the right direction Jay on springs :)

Get the springs etc and we'll fit them in a onesie. Then get it to autotest to have it set up.

I'd go for Spoons if you've got the cash, but the Eibachs have been fine for me.

dc5 from an fd2 i see your point, and to have owned both cars ;) nice! and the dc5 is sweet!

Thanks for the comments Chris, both great cars, I love looking back at the DC5 when I've parked her up..
Loverly looking car IMO

I tried Eibach / Tein / ABP Springs and overall for fast road and track use i found the Eibach's spot on, better than any ive tried. Ive driven a DC5 with Spoon springs and it didnt feel any different to Eibachs.

Also tried Tein MonoFlex Coilovers, and for road, and if you like hammering across B-roads then Eibachs are best, Tein MonoFlex just wanna chuck you into a hedge.

I know if i got anther DC5, Eibachs would be on without a doubt.

Get some Eibach adjustable rear camber kits, bang them on, then get it setup. I found out a -1 camber for road was ok, but for track i was running -1.5 front and -2.25 on the rear, but its all in how you want the car to feel, i tried the back end at -3 and it wasnt as loose as i thought it was but eat the inside edge on the rear tyre, liked to snap over bumps mid bend.
