EK9 Revival

Messages

If you have read my other build thread, you may have noticed I had basically converted my EJ9 into an EK9. Now I've purchased a rolling 9 I will be looking to revive it with the donor car I created.. The pics aren't the best but that's what I've taken so far while having a bit of a gander. It isn't MINT but it is pretty good condition. tiny bits of surface rust here and there and some random moulds. anyway..

Plans (for the forseeable future):

- Wipe it down (inside and out) then shove it into the garage
- Gather OEM parts (bumpers, lips, some interior etc)
- remove all decals
- stare at it at least once a day like a time lapse mode

The Type R will be in NHB when I'm done with the revive

cheers for looking

Thanks for the kind words. I would keep it CW if it wasn't so common :p

Nice work but the chassis is completely different to an EK9.

Yeah, i agree. I'm gonna track the current civic then after the reshell I'll track that. Want to feel the difference

I love an EJ9! Best looking civic IMO.

What block are you putting in?

I have the B16B.. Such an agressive engine

If it were me and I owned another EK9 I would definitely go down the B18 route. Or even an H22.

B18 & H22 are a straight swap.

K20's are a major project.

My EK9 was crap with a passenger, needed moar tourqes.

K20 seem to be more efficient with the money you could spend to get more power compared to the b series anyway. The B16B is still a fantastic engine especially for it being a 1.6 defo will be going b18c further down the line

The downside is that it's a major job to get one fitted.

Whereas a B18 literally just drops in.

I have not looked. Is it hard to get a good B18 now? they must be getting harder to find in good condition, and I would imagine expensive for this reason.

from what i've seen, B16Bs are more rare than B18C. And the value of a B16Bs (depending on condition of course) can almost have the same value as a B18C. you could always stroke a B16B at the end of the day since it basically is a de-stroked B18C :)

I managed to source a very healthy B16B and I'm very happy with it, do intend to stroke it to B18C but that's further down the line :)

Small update:

Was meant to move out of town for a job but for now I'm just gonna commute! Another job in a different location but better role I want has been in contact, so see how that goes.. Been thinking about using the flat deposit money to buy more parts haha! but anyway bought an OEM EK9 Grille, it's so nice compared to the rep I have on the EJ9, you cannot appreciate it any more haha! OEM is always good!

so here's the shopping list:

OEM EK9 Grille - GOT
OEM EK9 Headliner/ Sun visors - currently in talks-ish
OEM EK9 Headlights
OEM EK9 Front Bumper with lip
OEM EK9 Rear Bumper with lip
OEM EK9 Wing Mirrors (maybe electric folding)

Other pointless updates:

So you got a rear disc conversion, well that's real cute

the car cover blew off due to typical strong scottish winds so then shoved it in the garage (excuse the bike)
