HAR-VEY's NHB ep3 * 9J wheel pics added*

Hi all

Ive had my car for 6 months now and thought it was about time I started a progress thread. I have big plans for this car and so though it be easier to do this as the mods go on.

It took me a long time to find an ep3 I was happy with. The condition of so many cars for sale were so poor. Luckily I found one in near mint condition and only down the road from my house so ideal. I snapped it up and have been happy ever since.

I have had a fair background of cars and the ep3 was bought as a daily so I can try and afford some other toys for the weekend. (including my f20 e30)

After a week of having the car and saying I was going to keep it a 'standard' daily I got bored of the sounds and purchased an AEM V2, absolutely love the sound but now thinking I should have gone for a Tegiwa......there always time to change ;)

Next up was to swap the exhaust out for a Spoon N1 system thanks to Si over at Hendy Performance. Top guy and always happy to help a fellow Honda fan out.

And finally and most importantly I have been in contact with Scott at H-Tune and I should hopefully be receiving a set of ISC coilovers along with Skunk2 rear camber arms. I am very happy to test these out and be one of the first people in the UK to fit them to an EP3 (the coilovers that is).

ISC have got a good name for themselves over in America and are also built in house and so not re branded Chinese units like a lot on the market. Ill do a full review as and when they arrive of how the quality and how they fit and even perform.

I'm currently a design engineer contracting to companies such as Jaguar Land Rover and have also previously worked as a Test and Development engineer for Nissan so hopefully I know something about what i write in the review.

Look forward to meeting a few of you all at some of this years meets.

So parts arrived on Friday and i am very happy with how they were boxed. both the Skunk2 camber arms and the ISC coilovers. The Quality of the camber arms is as you would expect from skunk. I am also very impressed with the ISC equipment. The finish on all parts looks very impressive. I've had a few sets of Meister R's in the past and i'm happy to say they are of at least the same quality on the outset.

One thing I am very impressed with in the thrust bearing on the front shocks. It looks to be a sealed unit unlike others out there, so should help to prevent dirt and dust build up in the bearing.

I also liked the fact that the rear collar works with a clamp instead of locking two collars against each other like on most coilovers. This allows extra height to be taken out of the unit if you want to go really low

a few pictures of the parts!

yea that was me, was it your NHB ep3 I parked next to? what did you think of the day? I thought it was a bit of a disappointment

Yeah the T5 one is mine. Don't see many EPs attend the PH things but the events are local and in summer they attract all sorts of random cars from a far.

Think the liveliest one was the one across the road at work (Jaguar) last year, people were taking others out in their cars for hot laps lol never seen so many old boys misbehave on route home haha

Local by any chance?

not current, I live in Milton Keynes area but I started working at JLR in October so will be moving to the area fairly soon.

Little update

Had a change in plan and now have these. There already on the car and munching up the miles. Always been a fan of Meister R and should have gone with them from the outset

Thanks, i had a few problems with the ISC's but Htune sorted it all out so decided to go with Meister R as iv had them on 3 other cars in the past.

The dogs a Lab cross German Shepard :) funny thing is she loves going for a drive

I've heard Meister build a lot of stuff for other companies, so may as well cut out the middle man. If I was to ever buy some, I'd more than likely look at getting Meisters.

Oh really, mine's a lab x rottie, loves the car too...only because he thinks he's going to the park

Rears have a 5mm spacer on and only just catch the rear arm but I need to dial in some camber which should help. I also plan on rolling the rear arch's as there's no chance of getting these to fit without.
