EP3 I am a total car noob but the Ep3 has always been my dream car since i was about 10.

As above mate, if it's going to be a road car just use oem parts, no point polybushing a road car in my opinion. The Bilstein dampers will be the B4's which are the same spec as oem, if you can get the standard ones cheaper go for them.

Tounge in cheek by a Chris re credit card but he makes a valid point, step back and relax... gone full circle on the next mods you want in a matter of a few days.. if you're keeping the car forever, it don't need to be all done in a few weeks. Don't let that money burn a hole in your pocket, you got ages! The guys here are talking from experience, they've been where you are and burnt cash the wrong way.

Anyhow, I think you have all the info you need in these threads across ever available mod! Time to step back and let you plan your attack!

Get it on some ramps first and let the specialists tell you what's tired and what's not, it may well have had a refresh at some point, spend your money on what they tell you needs attention. If it gets a clean bill of health, look at upgrading in some of the ways suggested.

Take a look at some driver training, you will get far more out of it than putting on a new exhaust and air filter. Reg Local is well recommended on Pistonheads.

Yeah you're totally right. Will start off with the two stated above. Just I've been working two jobs to splash the cash so it's hard to stay level headed but yeah ultimately you are all far more knowledgable and experienced so will definitely refer back but keep you all posted on what I do. Thanks

Yeah credit card comment was tongue in cheek.

I know too well how easy it is to get excited. But there's no point putting new laces in your trainers if the soles are knackered.

You're absolutely right. The boy racer side of me was steering me all towards more noise and power but you've all made me realise it's definitely best to make sure the base is solid before I start building.

Absolutely, thanks for asking :) Putting 4 new tyres on it next weekend and then booking in for FRSU and springs. Just deciding between the Eibach pro or Eibach sport. Been driving a bit more economically of recent as I was spending about £90 a week on petrol with my half hour commute haha. Abolsutely love the car though.

Get the normal ones, not the really low ones. Can't remember which way around they are.

The pro lower less its 15mm and sportline 30mm on ep3

But I have had the ABP motorsport eibach 30mm 2 times now and wouldn't go for the 15mm ones unless there were particularly bad speed bumps I had to go over.

Get the ABP ones :p

You get the odd scrape from aftermarket exhaust on the larger speed bumps but never bothered me, My drive is quite steep and I slightly catch the front splitter on the underside but wouldn't have it any other way

Yeah I'd researched which way round they were, problem is there are a few speed bumps round where I am....not so much dropping it for looks more the obvious handling benefits, but I have to admit from the threads I've seen in here the 30mm drop does look quite good...

How you managed £90 of petrol a week with a half hour commute is beyond me. Glad that you are enjoying the car.

I have a 20-25 min commute and manage £50 a week on fuel, most my commute is traffic but have 1.6 miles of backroad blasting in there too

The empty roads at 3am driving back from my bar job prove pretty damaging to my fuel consumption, dunno if using the Shell V Power makes a difference either seems to not last as long but oh well. It was actually £90 going in on the 7th day so I'd essentially used £60 in 7 so it was a slight exaggeration but still quite a hefty bit more than what my 1.4 golf used lol.
