LSD for CTR

Anything is easy if you know how to do it and have the experience and tools to do so.

This is what I am saying, Nick.
It depends on who you get to do the job.
For a gearbox specialist, or someone with the knowledge and experience, it will be a fairly simple task.

For a crayon wielding mong, it may seem extremely complicated.

Lol I changed the clutch on my starlet turbo on the drive with my cousin, fun day that was.

Lsd, huge difference, my last 3 cars

Starlet turbo with mods, bout 180bhp
Dc2
S2000 (although rwd)
All had lsd's, all had much more grip on power in a turn, and didnt wheel spin as much off the line in the wet etc

The box has got to come out anyway, I've got a bearing or two rumbling on the over run. Not having owned the car for long I had the gearbox oil checked and it needed .5 ltr to fill. Damage already done.
A new clutch will go in too. As for the flywheel, I'm not too sure. I've been told that the standard flywheel weighs about
4.5 kgs. The lightest lightweight flywheel I've found is only about 1 kg lighter, so I'll leave the standard one in.
I've been quoted £384 to take the box out, strip, rebuild and replace. This is plus parts though.

any recomendations to where to buy from ?
im looking to buy a quaife lsd(recommended), clutch and flywheel next week , going to get it all done while the box is out , i have a 2002 ep3 and plan to supercharge been told i need to change the flywheel for a lighter one?
im from norwich , can anyone recommend anyone/companies for supply or fitting ?
cheers

A Quaife is definitely noticeable on the road. My ATR doesn't feel like it has one in comparison (although I have been taking it easy as it's on **** tyres at the moment).

An EP3 flywheel is only 4.5kgs? I find that highly unlikely.

Kaaz diff is a plate diff, you'd definitely feel that, especially when slow speed maneuvering, ie in a car park.

what flywheel would you guys recommend ? im fitting quaife diff been recommended clutchmaster fx400 clutch ?
cheers

Standard power at the moment but plan to supercharge next year . Cpl recommended the clutch to go with charger

I've always thought that an exedy stage 1 (or equivelant) would suffice for a charger setup.. ? Assuming your aiming for around 300 ponies?

I had a Stage 2, 4 paddle clutch with my Charger running 370bhp. Had it in for 6 months and it started to go. If your thinking of running 300bhp then Stage 2 should be ok, but if it was me I would go stage 3 for piece of mind.

Ive currently got a Competition Clutch Stage 4, but Im running 450ish bhp

Also Ive got a Competition Clutch Extra lightened Flywheel, think it was £200 from Demon Tweeks.
