MiKeY's Euro R CL7

Thought I'd update my thread a little. I have been looking at SC and turbos. Seen another SC Euro R and thought I wanted something different and decided to turbo my Euro R. I have spoken to many company's but decided the best would be TDi North, actually they were the only company that would do it since all the rest kept telling me SC it. So I spoke to Paul at TDI and he's excited to do the job and maybe the first Euro R to be turbo'd in the UK or maybe even Europe.

So after decided to go ahead I had to do one thing which was I had to up rate the clutch I which I was recommended AC Competition stage 4 with fresh Amsoil gear box fluid.

They will be fitting a Borg Warner turbo rated to 500. Won't be running 500 as I have a standard block. Going to be one epic journey.

Well the works started and I managed to sniper a few shots of some parts.

Borg Warner turbo and turbo smart BOV and wastegate.

Test fit ceramic coated manifold which you can just see in the background with also fitting of the intercooler.

Coming along nicely. A lot of stuff to move around but plenty of room to play with. Fuse box mounted to the side and battery will be moved sideways too.

So this is TDI North's 'project boosted barge'. It keeps popping up on my facebook feed, looks like it's going to be an epic motor & a bit different to the norm. Nice work!

Yeah, they were the only place that would do the turbo kit for me. Everyone else kept saying SC it. But TDI are very good at the work and Paul's knowledge of the K20 block is spot on. Can trust them with my motor.

TDI have their own barge *** but it's the type S k24 which their modding with parts off the shelf.

Lovely car this mate!

and good to know it's the TDI boosted barge project.. All the work they seem to so is top notch!

Can't wait to take a ride in you car buddy lol:) haha

I can't wait either lol

I have an update from them today. They said it's all going well though my engine has different routed water hoses that's different to other k20 engines. They had a ceramic coated manifold which they thought would work but doesn't due to hoses so they have a different one to use. Problem with that one is it's not coated so I will have to wait a week for that to get done. The boost pipe all mocked up and ready to be fabricated as well to intercooler so it's coming together well.

The exhaust was a job for them too but since they had the type s accord, paul was running a skunk 2 on that but realised it was noisey and sent that one to their exhaust specialist to make a custom exhaust with a big silencer in the middle and 2 backboxes with 3.5" slash tail pipe so gives it a subtle look and hopefully quiet as well. He will run one on his and I will run one on mine. Also anyone who wants a CL7/9 exhaust will know where to go too.

2 more weeks to go and it's proper dragging lol

Went in to TDI to collect some parts and to see the progress and it's going well. They had to get another turbo FN2 today and then it's all hands on project boosted barge!

They had to use a different exhaust manifold as my engines rear engine mount was quite high and in the way.

Turbo will sit comfortably there but they had to modify the water ways where hose goes to radiator but they had it covered.

Boost pipe coming along well so car should be ready in a week or two.

Exhaust has been custom made and on the car now. I have a 3" cat back which splits off to a 2.5" pipe into a big back box with a 3.5" slash tail pipe. I wanted a subtle exhaust top and quiet so hopefully this will do the job.

More pictures. It's all pretty much there but waiting for manifold to get powder coating and a few other little bits and bobs but car should be ready for me next week! Woo

Update:

Car has been mapped! 360bhp quite impressive. Unfortunately still waiting for manifold to come back from
Ziro coating. Once back she will be coming home. Might be able to sleep then too.
