hey everyone,

my boss bought a cheap Type R off a local trader at the start of the week.....one owner from new, 148k miles and i think the owner was called Fido....heres why

Fido was hungry
2012-06-11111522.jpg

owner obviously cut Fidos hair in the car and forgot to hoover it up....for the last 10 years!!

this thing is in such a state, cant believe how anyone can get in a car like this everyday! the smell was awful too

its even behind the speaker grills in the back
2012-06-11120024.jpg

how the hell did it get under the carpet!!
2012-06-11112722.jpg

so all the interior came out to be fumigated....managed to get hold of 4 replacement seats, and a new mat set.
unbelieveably the carpet came up really well, after 2 days of hoovering and pressure washing!

cheers for looking guys

all c+c`s welcome

right, time for an update that brings a little smile to my face!

as i said, the carpet took a couple of days of hoovering and pressure washering and this is how it came out
2012-06-13090316.jpg

this is still the same carpet!!

and fitted into the car
2012-06-13095347.jpg

how much nicer is that!

i said in a my last post that i had a couple of touches down the scrap yard.
touch 1: managed to get a boot carpet to replace the one that wasnt there anymore....on ebay they go for £30-40, from scrappy....£10!

touch 2: have been looking on ebay for a new handbrake cover, the original has lost the chrome off the end and on the button. amazingly there was a Type R at the scrap yard which still had the handbrake in it, and the chrome was in perfect condition...another £10 bargain

before

after
2012-06-13113218.jpg

touch 3: said scrappy Type R also still had the seats in it! and they were in pretty good condition. seeing as *** we already have a complete set coming, i decided to remove the back rest cover and foam to replace our eaten one and give us another set of decent seats to re-sell....£20 mega bargain!!
this is what i got
2012-06-13133657.jpg

this is how the seat started

another part the boss ordered was a replacement front splitter. original looked like he had driven into something low on the corner
2012-06-13115711.jpg

so bumper removed....no sign of accident damage luckily!
2012-06-13123735.jpg

and on the floor to ready to be attacked
2012-06-13123746.jpg

and new one fitted and bumper refitted
2012-06-13132834.jpg

ideally the front bumper and splitter could do with a repaint, but hey, it looks better already

also replaced the broken front badge
2012-06-13150511.jpg

since i got the carpet down, i put the centre console and handbrake cover back on, all re conditioned and looking lovely

right guys, after a while of waiting we finally got all the last pieces of the interior puzzle.
so got straight on to fitting/cleaning them to make the car look like a car again!

so first up, just a little one, the dog had had a go at chewing the gear knob, so managed to acquire one cheaply that hadnt been chewed to death!

Good transformation. I took this picture of a customers car today, never seen anything like it.

All the dash was broken, glove box was gone, no indicator stalk (pencil) no radio, seats minging. How do they do it? It was a 2004 car....

LOL at the magic trees..

2012-06-18120835.jpg

I really dunno how people can drive about in their motor like that!

m1ke that car is horrendous

I think it was worth it, he probably got a right steal on it. But I havent a clue how much he paid. I will ask.

That car will stink forever more.

As will the seats he punted on to recoup some of the cash. Feel sorry for the person who ends up with those.

Personally would have stuck it into a quarry and feigned theft, or killed it with fire.

Looks like an old model Fiat Doblo to me.

I'm guessing previous owner was a roundlegs and that they were transferring into drivers seat, dismantling a manual wheelchair and then passing this over themself into the passenger footwell hence the wear on the glovebox and gear surround/indicator stalk and most telling - wear to the front of the seat.

Just a guess though. They could have just been a mucky ****.

Pencil in the indicator stalk switch cracked me up.

Oxygen tank and cherryade in passenger footwell, standard.
