So doing a few tidy up jobs today on the civic. Resprayed intake and plug covers and was going to give the calipers a touch up. Then found this had happened to the near side rear pads.

Only been fitted about 3 months and done about 600 miles including a track day.

Sure them pads havent been binding? they look like they have got seriously hot at some stage
 
Hi bud it's a refurbished caliper , sliders all greased, bought another set of pads so will see how it goes. May have been the track day that destroyed it.

Did say that front braking efficiency was close to the limit, always thought the brake pedal didn't have a solid feel, investigations to begin.
 
Haven't you had issues with calipers in the past? Any chance it's just boiled your fluid?

Really nice ep3 Simon. The red looks ace. I'm in Lincoln but haven't managed a track day at Cadwell yet. If you don't mind me asking roughly how much is a track day at Cadwell?
