As most of you know my Civic went quite a while ago, 2 years in June I think.

It was replaced with a Fabia VRS which was great but too small so it has been replaced with this

Not sure how true the reading above is until I fill up again and work it out properly

As you can see its quite a bit bigger than the Fabia.

Have had it a few weeks and covered a number of miles. I do 50 miles a day and its really comfy and smooth. The extras that come with the elegance are great especially the dual climate control so that Foxy can have her side nice and hot. The parking sensors are great too as I am still not used to the size of the thing when I parallel park at work

Far cry from my civic as its only the 1.9 105bhp version, but the tax is only £110 and as you can see the fuel economy is slightly better

Update

Car is now fitted with the Parrot 3100 bluetooth kit, connect 2 ipod and an extra 4 cigarette lighter in the glove box. Also have a plastic guard for the boot for the tip. Roof rack now fitted with 2 mont blanc carriers for the bikes.

Best bit is impending remap. Its no where near as quick or as fun as the Civic, but for £279 I can get an extra 30bhp and a diagnostics tool to clear any faults which is great. It will be done by Shark performance and you email your current map off and download the changed map to the STS tool and then upload it to the car. NIce and simple and only £40 extra on insurance. Heopfully I will notice the jump in power from 105 to 145bhp

Here are a couple of images of fitting and finished.

I know the tomtom still has a wire on show, but wanted it off the windscreen and as neat as possible without making it permanent

looks good. i struggle to tell the difference inside between a current skoda and equivalent VW. i bet the build quality inside is solid.

it is a struggle mate especially when parts have the VW and audi badge on them

Can't complain, its cheaper, might not be the best looking car but its comfy, quiet and cheapish to run as far as estates go

good on you. i was in a golf over the weekend and all the climate and centre console badges look pretty much identical, same with the style of the seating, nice big boulsters. no bad thing, it was a very pleasant place to be.

german motors ftw. nice economy figures too given the size.

thats all of 105bhp for you

You can even adjust the bolsters. So climate control, auto dimming rear view mirror, headlight washers, rain sensitive wipers and rear parking sensors all for a decent price. Also thanks to the demand for the new ones the price hasn't really changed if I wanted to sell, but I don't :D

The map will make the torque shoot through the roof too won't it? One reason i love driving diesels (every now and again at work) is the torque! Can approach an incredibly steep hill and not even change down, keep in 4th gear and pull from so low down.

Well the car is now remapped. The kit is great, plug into the car and download current map. I got my remap back within a few days and uploaded to the car. Have driven it 50 miles and all good, definitely feels quicker but only time will tell with the mpg

3rd gear is great and will have to remember it picks up quicker now rather than building up thinking I need more time

Now should have roughly 135bhp. So much for not doing anything with it. Got some touch up paint to sort a couple of dings and scuff on the bumper, but I think for the time being that will do.

You never know, wheels and lowering might happen one day

Nice mate. I've still got my Mk1 Fabia vRS which should be going pretty soon, and i'm gutted that its going. Bought on 73k now on 111k, remapped since 87k, not missed a beat!!!

Cheers mate, the Fabia was a great little car and would have been cool to keep but it was just too small

Finally decided to get rid of the badges

Also added a magnetic tax disc holder to get rid of the nissan one. Also after over a year of ownership I fitted the front metal plate to match the rear

Ipod connector has been removed, no other plans other than save for something else bigger and more powerful :D

That reminds me - the M5's tax disc is still stuck to the windscreen with Blu-Tack. The previous owner had a stupid metal Ripspeed one that was impossible to use so I threw it away but forgot that I hadn't replaced it yet.

haha, worst £15 I spent on the Civic all those years ago. Sold it for a tenner I think and got a 99p magnetic one, 2 second swap FTW, undoing copious amounts of screws was a ball ache

Yes, it was one of those. F*cking stupid thing. Tiny little screws that you needed an Allen key to get out and then he'd attached it right at the base of the windscreen so it was impossible to put all the screws back in. What a load of balls.

And the sodding screws are plastic! I remember having to attach tape to a screwdriver to get said screw from an air vent on the civic. Certainly learnt the hard way, never again

Anyway, pleased with the symetrical look but need to get the rest polished and back to black the bumper IF I can get a spare couple of hours. Maybe when the kids and wife are asleep

Bit of an update, took the dash apart again, lol. Driver main speaker was playing up, turns out one of the clips had broken so I've wire tied it in place. Did some other clean up jobs while I was at it including hiding the mic for the BT kit in the light cluster in the roof.

After relocating the parrot screen to make it more symmetrical it now looks like this

Now just to sort my new tomtom holder as no one makes one that fits my system

Cheers John, much easier this time removing the top box. I'm getting quite proficient when it comes to removing all the bits, lol

Slight change today, fitted 4300k HIDs and Philips blue sidelights. All in all it took 20 minutes thanks to the great and easy Skoda design

After a fight with the gateway (3 hours) I finally fitted my new touch screen and SD card reading Bolero head unit. Due to the canbus setup, my old gateway would have not worked correctly and the stereo fans wouldn't shut off and drain the battery. Some clever sod decided to hide it behind the big fuses to the right of the steering wheel which made it an absolute pig to get to

Anyway here it is installed

Radio look. I especially like the ability to save fm and am on the same screen

Think that will do for the time being, but I would like to replace the badges as the ones on the wheels have seen better days and sort the scuff on the front bumper that was done by the previous owner

Also a friend of mine leant me a Ross tech lead so I have been playing with the settings like coming home lights and cornering fogs although yet to test the fogs. May not keep that enabled to be honest, but we shall see
