Partyvan's 270bhp N/A track slut

Is that the one in West Brom? Used to stay in the Premier Inn nearby if so, was always amazed at how rough it looked as we went past! Has improved since about 5 years ago?

That's the one! Yes it's under new ownership now. I never saw the old place, but the new one is awesome if that's the kind of women you like!

Well the sun has been shining, and I've been in the position of having a car ready for track season for a few weeks now! So I'm just tinkering, tweaking and generally enjoying the sun!

I'm chuffed to bits that another EP3 I bought for spares has the one Vibratechnics mount mine was missing, I now have a full set and it cost me nothing! :) New vs old

It's a lot lighter being billet aluminium vs pig iron, but cruicially a lot stiffer and stronger.

All cleaned, painted and fitted, with some nifty plastic dust caps covering the new high tensile bolts

I also changed the auxillary belt while I was in there, managed to source a Quinton Hazell one for £6 delivered. So chuffed with that!

Next I started drilling holes in the passenger footwell, and using a captive nut gun to fire in these threaded inserts like so...

Three fitted in total. It's like using a riveter, you use a mandrel and give it all a squeeze, giving you a lovely threaded insert.

This allowed the fitment of the Panic Pad(tm), a device for trackday passengers who want to brace themselves!

The set of wheels I bought the other week are the wrong offset for my car, so second time lucky hopefully! Picked these up the other day and dropped them straight off for powdercoating white. Should be done this week.

Since fitting the large front splitter, the whole rear end of the car has looked tame in comparison, so I've bought a pretty mad rear spoiler brace, lol
tegiwa-rear-spoiler-mounts-for-universal-wing-civic-ep-1_zpsjnqcvxht.jpg

The idea is you can bolt it to the bootlid and run it with a universal wing (which I already have). I'm going to get some large end-plates made for it too. The rationale is simply some high speed stability in fast corners. It's adjustable too, so I can set the angle of attack according to the track.

In prep for this new rear-end I've masked off the rear bumper diffuser panels

Plastidipped them black

Et voila, should match the black rear wing and bracing perfectly

And just another finishing touch, on the edge of the bonnet. So people know they are being beaten by a 2.0 n/a engine!

2 weeks till Cadwell Park and my lap record attempt, stay tuned :)

Killing it my friend! I fancy a big stupid spoiler like that too

Keep on man, love this car.

Looking good mate! Never seen one of them tools for putting threads in the body, very handy thing to have!
Can't wait to see the BGW

Justin

Cheers guys! I was chuffed to hear today that Jinis' Turbo DC5 ran a ridiculously slow 14.02 quarter mile, compared to my blistering 14.01! Hahahahaha made my day that! One hundredth of a second!

Today I lent a hand to two of the guys coming on the Nurburgring trip. First was Matt's Clio 172, we fitted a set of spherical bearing, solid topmounts along with a strut brace.

The quality of this thing is utter porn! It's from Pure Motorsport if anyone is interested.

Next up I was over in Uttoxeter for my mate's Cavalier Turbo build, which is 95% finished bar the fluids, boost pipes and a steering column. His first trackday will be the Nordscleife!! #brave

My wheels also came back yesterday... not bad for £20 a rim! Many thanks to www.citypowdercoaters.co.uk

It's proper sturdy, no exaggeration you could tow the car off it. Chuffed :)

Here's some options for bumper holes I've mocked up in MS Paint

Because Racecar

3 holes
holes3_zpsoi5ot8di.jpg

5 holes
holes2_zpsyaiyggta.jpg

Diagonals
holes4_zpshwcql3pg.jpg

Holes and diagonals
holes5_zpskmnzqftx.jpg

Big and little holes
holes1_zpsb7ra3x3v.jpg

Going to have a proper think about this before getting the holesaw out.

Just take the bumper off and get the shotgun out, then any holes a goal, the diagonals will look good though they are different to what you usually see

New wheels skinned up in R888Rs :) Looking forward to seeing if these live up to the hype.

I've also fitted this billet short shift kit.
20160422_121916_zpscshmph8g.jpg

It bolts along the top of the shift arm, giving a new pivot point for the shifter cable. The result is a very "clicky" short throw shift. Great mod! Takes only a few minutes to fit, unless you're a **** like me that drops small pieces of it behind the dash during fitting!

Here's my Go Pro, hard wired in with a battery delete kit. This will be my main forward facing camera. I have two other cameras I'll be setting up in the week
