Could anyone with a GruppeM please post (or email me) some close up pics of a GruppeM please. Thinking very hard about getting one. I'd just like to see the cowl GruppeM supply, and the fitting of the scoop and anything else you think could be of relevance to someone of myself who's yet to see one in the flesh. I know there's some pics of them on here but they just show it sitting in the engine bay and not the detailed bits which I'm after.

This would be very much appreciated on my part. Thanks guys.

(Cheers to Chris as well for answering my questions regarding some GruppeM issues  8) )

Carl (N77) has a huge pic of his in his garage:

dunno if its any use to you tho

Thanks mate that has helped. What I don't like though is the fact that rubber weather strip is just left to hang like that. I've spoken to Chris about this and he assures me that water ingress into the engine bay is minimal and nothing to be worried about. I want it but I'm still not 100% sure yet. Awesome bit of kit but it does have its drawbacks.

If anyone else has got some further pics from different angles or showing something else of relevance I would appreciate it if they could post them up or email them to me.

Just received a reply from a Mr. Mamoru Ogose of GruppeM Japan. Provided me with an invoice for £388 including shipping to the UK. Oh its getting tempting. Just wonder if it would really be that much better than the Mugen Airbox I'm currently running with now. Chris, Carl (N77) or any other GruppeM users, what do you think?

I believe Julian had the mugan on his, might be worth pm on how he thinks it compares. Having switched from an icebox to a gruppe m, gained about 4bhp, but its still 4bhp, when you take into account what you will get for the Mugan. Although because of the ram effect on the road it maybe more, rambling now so going to stop. Me I would swap the mugan for a gruppe m

Here you go dude

Hope this helps

Has anyone got any close up pics of the supplied Cowl fitted?
Its just that reading about all the poor fitting (ie the gap between the window etc) I'd like to se exactly what people are talking about.

Cheers,
Ollie.

Ta for the offer MrZippo! From what Paul said I thought you worked somewhere local fitting mods. :)

Either GruppeM or Mugen I'm after. Would prob prefer the GruppeM. Its just the dodgy fitting I'm concerned about. To be honest, I'd prob give it a go myself. Doesnt seem too complicated. Am just wondering about the quality of the plastic bit that goes by the windscreen.... If I got one off Honda and cut it etc I'd probably bodge it up, lol.
Do many people on here use the supplied one then? Or do most make their own?

the dodgy fitting of the scuttle panel can be easy fixed with 3M VHB tape for permanent fixing. Since using this tape my scuttle panel does not vibrate and it is stuck down for good.
If you want we can meet up and I can show you how scuttle panel is fixed.
