Anyone ever seen these on a car before they are a big thing on bikes i dont know if i would trust them on a car though

They look rubbish. Never seen anyone use them on a performance car, there's going to be a reason for that.

Why would you want a smaller braking surface though?

Probably won't do the car any good, I don't even think they look good actually.

As above, smaller surface is one thing... which mean higher chance of over heating the disk.
I can see also the disk developing hot edges, along with other issue...

I wouldn't touch them if I were you...
