They wouldn't see penny one from me! In fact I would demand compensation for the "extra" day you had to take off work. You obviously state that you are paid by the hour and not salary .

Unfortunately, it seems that more and more "respectable" companies have just got píss poor standards. Call centres is another cracking example, but that's a whole different thread!

Make them feel your wrath!

Good to see Renault stealers are still wnak. Actually thats harsh, Sheffield are ace.
Get onto renault customer services, they are spot on, i ended up with a free service when i was messed about.

Thats shocking service Andy :(

I can't say I experience anything remotely similar. Hope it's sorted asap mate.

Latest update... the replacement belt they ordered and were fitting today does not exist. It's been ordered (again!) and is on backorder. So... my car is in parts at the stealers in Cardiff and and I have no car until at least next Tuesday. Even then I was told that they cannot guarantee it will be done that day or the next. If it isn't done by Thursday then big trouble as I have a Wales Tour driving holiday that Lyn and I've been organising for the last 3 months and no fekkin' Trophy to go in. *fuming*

I'm certainly taking this as far as I can and demanding some form of compensation - if not a completely free service. This has gone beyond a joke now and I'm stuck with that damn awful Mingo. Not happy at all. :(

Sorry to hear you've had all this hassle Andy, hope you get your car back for next weekend...

I want to take mine for a service somewhere else over than a Renault dealer next time (36k - Aux belt change) but being in the north west my options are limited....

Thanks guys. I'm more than angry right now but luckily I have a direct contact with the manager for Renault UK (Customer Services) after the fiasco with the Recaro's the other month. He'll be hearing from me very soon and I'll be pursuing this as far as I can take it.

Cheers Martin.

Being in the northwest... there is a guy who is a specialist Renault engineer, has his own business, is a tidy driver (having been held up by a Lambo Gallardo whilst he was in his Trophy lapping Castle Combe!) and he may be able to help you...

I believe he's Manchester area. I'll get the details for you if I can (give me a few days as I'm a bit busy at present!)

It's finally fixed and I get to pick it up Tuesday morning first thing. And to think they expect me to pay for this 'service'...

Glad for you Andy - just been reading your story of this whole debacle. It's shocking, to say the very least. Enjoy your little holiday this coming weekend

Cheers Regan - had a cracking weekend mate :smt023

Finally managed to grab a few more pics - including one of the engine bay with the custom-painted cover / battery cover and one with the new CF spoiler fitted.

dude were did you find the cf splitter, a friend of mine has a clio been looking ages for one, stunning car

cheers mate thankyou that gorgeours im looking at clio's now, as some of you know my ctr went yesterday :( i have to buy a cheaper car and start saving, im looking at either a clio 172 or 172 cup i want the cup as like the blue colour and the alloys, but prefer the interior of the non cup version, would love a troophy but out of my budget now, is there much to watch for on the clio etc??

Good to hear that you are back on the road Andy. I trust the dealers did not try to make you pay for their shoddy service.

The engine cover and the front splitter look very nice. I've finally had a peek at the suspension too. ;)

I hope all are safe and sound and in good health. :smt023

As much as I love the Jap cars and the CTR is must be said that you do get an awful lot of car for the money with a Clio Sport. There, said it! You hear horror stories but I can't say Renault are really any better or worse than many others.

To be honest your best bet would be to trawl through Clio Sport websites (although you'll have to wade through a lot of cr@p sadly!) and get an idea that way. There are a few little things to be aware of but I'm not clue'd up enough on Clio Sports to reliably advise in all truth. The 172 (and 172 Cup) is a little quicker than the 182 (although not noticeably so to use mere mortals in all honesty) and a few of the 172's had issues with rear-brakes I believe - i.e. they basically didn't work. I'm not sure if this was Cup-only... see? Better to do a little digging...

As I keep saying the Trophy does handle superbly thanks to the fantastic geometry setup but - often joked about but very true - the whole Clio Sport range handles very well (for stock and no mod's).

Thanks, R. I'm happy to report that all are safe and in good health at present. I echo those words and hope all is well with your good self and the family. It's been such a long time since we last hooked up and I hope some free time soon will allow us to catch up.

As for the shoddy service I've received... I'm in the process of complaint with the relevant peeps at Renault UK HQ. I have a direct line to the UK Customer Relations Manager! More info as things develop...

I'm glad you like the splitter. I do think it sets the car of really nicely and am grateful that Lyn bought it for me. I wouldn't have expected it to make much difference visually but it does catch the eye and I've seen a few people taking a closer look and enquiring as to where to get one. Anyways, how did you get the opportunity to take a closer look at the Trophy suspension? Quite impressive, eh? Did you get a chance to take a drive in it? If not then you should push to do so as it handles quite well...

Looking good Andy 8)

Cheers M! Hope all is well up there in the northwest. :smt023

Blimey - this is WELL out of date and I should update it. I think it might be best to start a new project thread when I get a minute! :D
