Stoptech big brake kit - cheapest place to buy?

Had a trouser moment yesterday, doing 60 on an A-road, around the bend was a queue of traffic, had to brake hard, was contemplating going up the grassy verge to avoid a collision. My confidence in the standard brakes is now reduced.

"Upgrade the discs and hoses" I hear you, but I also want to do a few track days this year, I'm yet to do any, and I hear Stoptechs are the best for the job, for the price.

Just so that I can join the Nick thread....

Stoptech's will be a bit OTT I think.

They are teh porn though.

Fit Stoptech's and DS3000's and have trouser moments every time you hit the middle pedal!

Prices have gone up loads recently so Funkys quote is a pretty good price if you can get them held to that.

Stick to the DS2500 a much better pad overal then the DS3000,

The DS3000 need to allways be hot other wise they will chew through the rotor in no time, you can actually hear it doing so!!

Also the Axxis pads that came with the kit I wouldnt even fitting, there pretty poor, I've yet to try yellow stuff...

try http://www.abpmotorsport.co.uk/abp-homepage

or Abbey Motorsport

Apparently, DC5 Brembos will bolt on, I just need the discs? Can anyone confirm this? I thought you needed DC5 hubs etc?

I'm pretty sure you need the complete DC5 hub assembly, ask Manda as her CTR has DC5 Brembos on.

Yes I am sure she mentioned needing the hubs in her Brembos for sale advert.

Cheers.

How long did it take you to think of fuh-q?

No idea, it was in 2002. Before that it was sh1t-the-bed (spelt correctly) but some richard complained, so the new username was in retaliation. I certainly saw what I did back then, of that I am sure.

Standard DC5 brakes aren't all that good anyway. Just uprate the discs, pads and get braided hoses. Half the price of the Stoptech kit and suitable for what you need.

For me at least, half the appeal of having Stoptech's is that they look the nuts  .

Uprate to what?

I'd like some brakes that have bigger discs, just so they look better behind the wheel.

Why are you selling your uprated discs and getting OEM ones then?
