FN2 Type r flat spot

Messages

I have recently bought a 2008 Type R. I find when I change from 2nd-3rd and 3rd to 4th under fairly hard acceleration there seems to be a flat spot as I accelerate. When changing gear under normal driving it is fine. I am used to VW's, first Honda.
Does anyone else have or had the same issue?

Changing in vtec, perhaps I need to get used to the fly by wire. Will take it back to the dealership to check. Will post what they tell me.

I get a flat sopt with mine but I have got a induction kit, the only kits that you dont get a flat spot are the oem and the Gruppe M :)

Every time I hit my flat spot...

I had my 'faltspot' taken out too give constant pull.

There is still a slight kick, but its a real one, where the cams change.

Red is OEM map, green is new map. Flat spot can been seen quite clearly in the red map.

Gruppe 'M - DC5 4-2 mani - Spoon decat 2-1 - Spoon B pipe - OEM back box

Artech and Surrey RR said that teh OEM box was restricting flow and killing the top end power, hence the drop off at 7+Krpm's.

 The things we do to keep the neighbours happy.
