Why buy a CTR??

leave it to me mate, i'll post up some good ones later today. the problem is you have to act fast, if a car is both good and reasonably priced it sells within 1 or 2 days :( it's best to start looking for cars on a friday morning so you can sort it all out on the weekend.

cheers rossy your a great help.
soz richie you're a bit too far from me mate. good luck with the evo though

danga, there is a chap off here who is about to sell a CTR that fits exactly in your budget and is mint, i've told him to post here if he is interested i can recommend his car as i saw it last week at a meet.

good CTR with 50K & air con = 5,5K

good 330 52 plate @ 60K & half decent options = 8K

vauxhall, no idea sorry.

CTR is lighter. CTR has a shoddy interior by comparison and terrible sound system. CTR is for ragging around in, bouncing off the limiter, cheap mods. CTR has depreciated so much you won't lose much if you own for a couple of years.

BMW is for smooth driving, good options, nice place to be, excellent package. more common, as the e46 3 series everywhere.

real world performance is tit for tat, insurance is cheaper on 330. MPG is really the same. servicing costs if you go main dealer will be considerably cheaper with CTR. BMW won't go wrong, neither will the civic, both excellent cars.

OMG is it really :s how come? the 330 has more power right? or is it because its european?

you do realise this thread is over 10 months old? i would imagine the insurance is cheaper as it is placed in a lower insurance bracket, all sorts of information go towards making a decision on what insurance bracket a car is placed in, they mainly take the data collected on the vehicle previously such as - damage and cost of parts, repair times, new car values, body shells, performance and security

it isn't black and white about insurance groups and pricing, some companies charge less for certain brands over others. others see certain cars as more of a risk than others. by and large a 5 grand 330 will be cheaper to insure than a 5 grand ctr. it is for me and a few other people in my neck of the woods. if you called up a jap performance specialist then i would imagine the ctr would be cheaper.
