Right, just picked up my new '99 JDM Honda S2000.

I had viewed a few S2000's, but a JDM, having the extra BHP and torque over a UKDM was my first choice.

I read the normal advert, 'perfect example', (lardy da) and proceeded to arrange a viewing after the epic TRO meet in Norwich.

The car was in very good condition, better than the others I had seen, some as late as '01. Paintwork is very good, the only downside is a worn lumbar support on the drivers seat (standard I suppose). Everything else is good, not perfect, but very good for a 11 year old car.

In the last year it has doen just under 2,000 miles and has been garaged, dont think its had a good good clean for at least a year though.

FSH all checks out and has new tyres (although they are a bit pony) and new brakes and pads in the last year.

Its everything I was looking for and more importantly what I can afford at the moment. This will be a ideal chariot down to Le Mans later this year.

57,000 miles and imported in 2003, im the 3rd owner since import. It came with, from when it was imported..
  • Mugen cat back system
  • Mugen air filter
  • Blistien coilovers
It drivers very well, pulls hard and sounds epic. I will get myself some spanners and raise the ride height a little I feel, as maybe its a little low.

The revs dont climb as fast as the k20 did, but power seems to be stronger throughout the whole range and before you know it your into three figures before you hit 5th, hard to compare it to the EP3 as its a totally different package. Indicators pi$$ me off though as they are on the other side.

Other than that, tomorrow its having a overhall, big big clean and some better pictures.

The only pics I have are of a quick pit stop on the drive home, but you get the idea. Better ones will follow tomorrow.

Very very nice, since Chris took me out for a drive in ADHD's old S2k I've considered them something I'd enjoy owning! Love the looks and the idea of drop top driving :D.

Look forward to seeing some more pics after a good clean up :)

Looks good. You just need to pray to the sun gods now. I only managed 930 miles in mine last year... :(

Nice one! :smt023

I bet it sounds good with the Mugen cat back.

Awesome mate awesome. I suggest you take it for a massive drive to mine and I shall clean it.

Look forward to more pics.

Suits JDM indicators on the right is the way to go, once you get used to it it's much better. Means you don't have to move your hand for gearchanges.

You going to mod? ie engine/power mods? it takes alot of money to make it worthwhile on these motors

Cheers for teh comments guys, im just getting ready to go and give it a clean now.

Joe, ill see you later mate  .

Yeah, indicators on the right makes sense, its just getting used to it  .

Re mods, well it has some tasty ones to start with, so thats cool. I've been speaking to Romain at ARTech about the F20 and he says that its harder to tune than the K20, plus there is no K100 equivilent, so I would have to go with the mappable GReddy ECU or something like that, ££££'s.

Headers seem to cost less for this than the EP3, so thats a plus, I want the J's intake as that is porn, but the Mugen will do for now.

I did set out to leave my EP3 OEM, so I suppose anything can happen.

Looks very nice......but weren't you looking into a Golf R32?

I was looking at a lot of things TBH, R32, 350Z maybe even a AWD turbo. I wanted to stay NA though for a while as boost will be the eventual ending, but I felt I would never go back to NA after a turbo'd car unless it was a V8. So I had to get this out of my system first, as its a car I have always fancied.

But this had the most thrills to £'s ratio for me, plus, while I can (ie no kids) I wanted something impracticle that I can hoon around in through the summer with the roof down.

Looks cool Nick, nice one man. :smt045

One of the very few convertables a man can look cool pushing.. this side of M3 money.

Hup the S2K.

I love the AP1 Mugen lip; smutty as

Ahh i see....well i was the guy that was hoping to swap my r32 with your civic! wish i did, just shame about the seats not foldering down.

But i manage to get a NHB civic in the end and i think you done the right thing in getting the s2k!! one of my fav 2 seater convertible cars!

Tidy, lush etc. You're going to have to bring this upto Norfolk at some point so I can have a spin.

QFT

Indicators on the right also make it much easier on roundabouts I've found.
