I'd stick to OEM clutch, box might not need any repairs it could all be down to the clutch itself. Worthwhile spending the extra £100 odd to get the box checked whilst it's out for th clutch replacement. Good luck

Shirt shifting may not be what you need either. +1 on the new clutch. Get them to check the gearbox whilst it's out, peace of mind

Yes it does outside of vtec + improved throttle response. Could do yourself but as above, it's essential for the Tegiwa. £380 sounds rights from memory. I wouldn't bother with the fancy blue or red hose pipes if you want to keep costs down

Tegiwa + air scoop sounds better than my old ep3 which had a cone induction with heat shield. Also I find throttle response is noticeably different in comparison to cone.. my experience of course

Drop a cold air intake, night and day difference in sound when hitting the vtec range... I'm not a fan of 'exhaust noise' but that vtec cross over is what makes the cars imo + I second all of the opinions re keeping OEM exhaust, don't like the single pipe exhausts and as for th dolphin shaped...

Cheers Bazza. I like the sound of the Tegiwa and vtec, I wouldn't want any exhaust noise above the OEM to be honest. I might do k100 with just intake and benefit from the mid range improvements.

It sounds plausible, no issues so long as it works fine. No need to 'gamble' on a car which doesn't have service history though, it could be well maintained and perfect but I personally wouldn't risk it. Each to their own and if you're happy, grab it.

My ep3 has had an engine swap, I managed to speak to the chap who did the work (not who I bought the car off) my cars engine runs sweet. If it's been done properly then I see it as an advantage.

Also living in the vtec would give considerably less fuel economy. If you drive it conservatively it's not much difference to any other 2.0 Ltd engine

No, wouldn't say fro, the tyres. It was definitely coming from the centre of the vehicle, down by the gearbox. It was only in th down rev/low revs and a metal grinding noise.

Clutch was very well worn but wasn't on deaths door he said. Certainly wasn't just changed like I was led t believe!!
