Cheap tyres, post 'em here.

Yokohama Advan Neova AD08's! Without doubt the best tyres i've ever tried!
Unbelievable levels of grip and really make the car feel 'right', definitely consider these the next time you need tyres. You will not be disappointed! Having tried A LOT of different rubber from all the big names these inspire more confidence than any other. The size i have is not easy to find but rare-rims have them, http://www.rarerims.co.uk/wheelshop_tyres_products.asp?id=12&categoryid=5&product=AD08
215/45/17 for £121..
Money well spent.

I'm looking for those in OEM size for my new rims, cheapest I've found so far is £311 for a pair.

Is there a reason they need to be OEM size?
I had a quick look for you and found OEM 205/45 for £150 each - http://www.camskill.co.uk/m117b1600s4744p59636/Yokohama_Tyres_Trackday_Track_Day_Yokohama_AD08_Advan_Neova_Yokohama_AD_08_-_205_45_R17_84W_TL_

I
have 215/40s on my ep3 and there is virtually no difference so you could try them, i found AD08s 215/40 for £144 each - http://www.rarerims.co.uk/wheelshop_tyres_products.asp?id=12&categoryid=5&product=AD08

H
ave a play with a tyre size calculator if you're worried, try http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator.htm It gives a a difference of -1.95% from changing OEM to 215/40, and reduces the diameter by 12mm so they will look much the same.

Not massively important no, if there's no difference in price I'd go OEM, if it is a decent saving I'd go for another size. I've got different sizes on now.

I probably won't be fitting them until next spring so I'm just keeping an eye out for bargains/offers at the moment.

Bridgstone Potenzas...£89.50 fitted (that includes VAT.)

I've always bought my tyres from here being a Ponty boy myself, and agreed it is a sh*t hole and the staff are monkeys but
They are cheap!

got some AD08 yesterday.

Looked on black circles which were one of the cheaper places.
£142 over there with the option for Triple Tesco Club points [1700+] or 2% quidco cashback

camskill quoted me but ultimately didnt have the clubcard offer, they have altered their pricing today though
141.45 there now.

this is for 215/40 r17

hope it helps someone out.

I had a problem with one of my front tyres needing changing immediately before a 60mile trip. I could not find Bridgestone in stock so quickly, and the other tyre available was 5mm thicker. So I had to get a New pair of budgets on the front.

My biggest regret ever. It is soooooo bad. I turn left, car goes straight. Anything over 90mph vibrates like crazy. They are useless. The type r is nothing without good tyres.

I've got exactly the same problem mate so I understand your frustration. I bought my EP3 with 2 budget tyres on the front....... SO, SO bad. I can drive normally in the wet in 3rd gear at about 3000rpm, put my foot down and it will start to wheelspin :( Can't turn for ****!!! Tippy toe every day now it's wet. Like you say... just avoid budget tyres on the EP3. Luckily a good deal has come up for me and I'm picking up a set of alloys with Vredestein tyres next weekend. Can't wait!!!

Tyres are like anything, the more you spend the better they are likely to be. Once you get to the top brands its more personal choice and 'economy' vs 'performance'.

Don't think I can really post my tyre "deals" seeing how I work in the field and can get pretty much anything at £45 or less. Mwhaha!
