Cheers!

After sorting out the breathing [god it works well!] I thought that I needed to sort out the OEM pea-shooter centre section. So I met up with R8byb from teh other forum and picked up a nice shiny new 2.5" Unsilenced B Pipe. I am very impressed with both the build quality and design. Its also very light.

Most of the unsilenced B Pipes on the market at 2" so this bigger piece of kit should fare nicely. Its all in the girth ;)

I will get some vids this weekend. It will be attached to OEM Mani/Cat/B Box.

I managed to stretch the legs on the type R on the way to see Rob tonight, so I could test the Hondata Airbox and CAF properly. Now there is a significant difference to OEM, it pulls much harder at higher speeds.

Anyway, here are some pics of Rob's handywork:

You say the standard b-pipes are 2" and this is 2.5", is there any issues with fitting it to the OEM cat?

Looks well made though fella, need to get some vids up now

increasing the b pipe size will reduce back pressure - resulting in advancing of the fuelling - making the car run a bit richer and logically a bit quicker.

However fuel consumption will increase

- the exhaust box (standard) will develop a rasp noise at 3-5k revs - the noise is like marmite but I like it -

lovely looking car in progress there - may I recommend some stainless brakelines?

Thanks - The Goodridge hoses are great - even when really abused.

I fitted the 2.5" B Pipe today. A really easy job. I also removed the heat shield because when the B Pipe was very hot it was very close to touching it.

The difference is surprising! The CTR almost feels transformed, bags of torque and power. Pickup is fantastic. Awseome mod.

As for sound - it sounds very similar to the Yozzasport Ragnotti system I had on my 172 track car. It has a quite a deep burble, but high pitched when putting it through full load. It also has the odd pop.

The system has not coked up yet. I did one vid literally straight after fitting it so there is a lot of smoke from where the exhaust needs bedding in, plus it stunk!. After running it in for 70 miles the smoke has gone.

Here are some pics and the vids

just a quick one, you may want to consider getting it mapped - otherwise you will notice a big change in your fuel consumption - especially from cold. Not running a centre box can cause up to 11% more fuel being used (**source supersprint website**)

hence the odd pop due to unburn fuel igniting

Its hard to capture the exhaust note on a cam, but I am pleased with it.

I expect the fuel consumption to go up, time to save for a K-Pro! lol

looking good!

I also was wondering about the climate control dials,do they hold a set temp when put in auto?

I checked out my climate controls on the centre console. It works a treat, if put in AUTO on both dials it automatically engages the aircon and directs the airflow to the windcreen to dimist, then resets it to direct it to the passengers
