Yes. Honda said to Auto Car in Geneva Motor Show “We are trying to balance two aspects. Some rivals focus on extreme performance and others are going in the comfort direction. We want to go right in the middle.”
However, Honda Racing will be using the old platform (9th generation) for their racing car in WTCC and TCR series in 2017

The Halfords Yuasa Racing too, will use de old platform(9th generation) for their cars http://www.btcc.net/team/honda-yuasa-racing/
Go figure!

Matt Neil said on Facebook that the platform came too late for this season.

They'll use whatever Honda want them to push. Remember the Tourer? That was far from the best shell but they had to use it for BTCC.

Octane is measured differently in the US vs the EU.

EU 95 octane = US 91 octane and EU 98 octane = US 93 octane.

Maybe the consistency is poorer Andy or
Maybe it's emissions related who knows. For whatever reason Honda have turned the map down in the US and when asked why they've sited fuelling.

Spotted in Swindon.

I'm thinking of ways to justify getting one.

I keep coming back to a manual car being stuck in traffic feels like going back in time plus I'm supposed to be getting rid of all my debt.

If the car is going to be closer to 40K i am pleased I decided to go for the FK2. Mine was almost half that and with a few little mods I'm running more than 316BHP as well.

The rear shot of the cw doesn't look that far off the fk2,
Not keen on having a rear wiper, it doesn't look right.
It's certainly grown on me though

That's one truly horrible looking car. The base model is frumpy and bulbus, awkward looking at best. The 'R' is lipstick on a pig. Not even done well, it looks honda said "let's make this ugly lump look like a slut" & the designer gave it half a shot before going the pub.

DNW.

I think ill stick to the idea of getting an FK2 as I am not liking the front or back on the new one, at least the front looks good on the FK

I'm not going to slag it off as I'm sure Honda know what they are doing. It's been designed for the American market. That is very clear. It's quite far removed from the civics of old and I think that's why I prefer the FK2. It's close to the FN2.

I think that the FK8 will be far more popular with the masses.
The new american shape Civic will appeal to the HUGE market of Beemers/Audi/Merc saloon buyers who stuff gash like M-sport all over the car.
For those buyers this R will be a cheaper alternative to zee Germans and as most of these buyers are not car enthusiasts they won't know the difference between FWD and RWD... they'll just see a boot shape with a spoiler on it and be SOLD.
