Pricing announced for the next generation Honda Civic Type R

Entry level model comes in at £30,995 with GT version an additional £2,000
PCP pricing to be under £300 a month for entry level version
Cars to hit retail forecourts in July

Honda UK has today announced pricing for the hotly-anticipated next generation Civic Type R. Set to hit retail forecourts in July, the entry level model will cost £30,995 and the GT version will cost an additional £2,000 at £32,995 on the road and will come with a host of extras.

PCP pricing has also been confirmed for the new car, which is built at Honda’s UK manufacturing plant in Swindon; with monthly payments in line with the current car and starting at £299 a month on a three year 5.9% contract for the entry level version of the new Civic Type R.

As with the outgoing model, GT drivers will benefit from blind spot information including cross traffic monitor, dual zone climate control, auto dimming rear view mirror, Honda CONNECT with Garmin Navigation, wireless charging, high power audio, and LED front fog lights.

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the 2017 Civic Type R shares the same fundamentals as the new Civic hatchback and has been engineered from the ground up to deliver the most rewarding drive in the hot-hatch segment – both on road and on the race track.

The 2.0-litre VTEC TURBO of the previous generation Civic Type R has been optimised and refined to produce 320 PS with peak torque of 400 Nm, while the six-speed manual transmission is further improved by a rev match control system.

Phil Webb, Head of Cars at Honda UK, commented: “As with the previous generation, we are fully expecting a huge demand for the Civic Type R. The order bank is already open and we are experiencing strong interest off the back of the launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March – and this is before our customers have even taken a test drive.”

Ends.

It'll be a great upgrade to the FK2 but i feel, not a huge step forward. New body shape, new tech, bit faster but 95% the same. Definitely test driving one when i can :D

I also like how every manufacturer fails to mention the ££££££ deposit and £££££££ final payment, 'Just £299 a month'

Multi link rear suspension should make the car feel a lot better on the road.

32'995 OTR does that include the 1st yr tax? also add £500 on that for paint.
£299 for basic @ 36mths= £10764 + 1000 deposit = £11764, final payment @ 3yrs (with paint) = £19731.
If I'm Reading right

Your forgetting bout the 5.9% APR rate.

By my rough calculations - £299 over 36 months at 5.9% APR is borrowing around 10 grand from Honda finance.
So wheres the other £22,995. The deposit and final payment. Thats where.

Now imagine financing the whole amount, just for laughs...

£32,995
over 3 years
at 5.9% APR

Total monthly payment £1002.28
Total charge for finance £3,086.99
Total repayment amount £36,081.99

Hahahahahhahahaha

OTR usually means all in and including delivery, VED and plates.

If its on par with the FK2 on emissions then its £500 for the 1st yr then £140 onwards.

The PCP is near what the FK2 was, but the final payment is a lot higher,
Going by the above prices they'll definitely want 10k deposit before collection if not then I can see a fair few of these being handed back at 36mths, no one will pay 20+k after 3yrs

More spotted on the M4 this morning. Wasn't a trailer full but a few mixed in with regular Civic's.

US are getting them first and I can't see a steering wheel on right hand side of the white CTR on the bottom pic. They will all be off to the port. :smt023

I'm not disputing that, you live 30ish miles from the plant so it's not unbelievable but those on the transporter aren't getting delivered to the UK. Look at the grey normal Civic on the top, clearly doesn't have a steering wheel on the right.

Honda have made no secret that the CTR is being sold in the US before the UK and the hatchback Civic was on sale in the US well before it went on sale here.

Maybe, it's hard to tell, it could equally be the bank verge in the background. The one on the bottom clearly doesn't have a wheel on the right.

The press release yesterday said they will go on sale in July. I really can't see them being sat at a dealer for two months, not even as demos. 10G hatch demos arrived a week before the first orders. The FK2 demos arrived at the same time as pre-order cars. We all know how some dealers were asking for payslips and deposits before test drives even then.

I really find it hard to believe there is some sort of conspiracy or surprise release here.
