seeing as another 4K miles have come by, and the sun was just about out, or should i say it was dry, lol, thought id treat the car to a service.
Changed the Oil, Oil Filter and Spark Plugs. (Gearbox oil, Transfer Box Oil and Rear Diff Oil changed when the Gearbox was changed)
took a few snaps, theyre iphone quality so no moaning!!! Thought id take a few pics and put them up for the Evo owners among us, so they can do the same and save themselves a few hundred quid!!
As standard, Driveway jobbie:lol:
Couldnt find the oil drain pan, so a bucket is the next best thing  all you need is a 14mm spanner, or 14mm socket on a wratchet for the sump plug, and a pair of large swan neck pliers for the oil filter. Whilst up on the stands, i done the usual, check for play in wheel bearings, bushes, any leaks, security of everything, all seemed shweeeeet!!
Only the best will do
whilst letting the oil drain, thought id change the plugs over. Remove the 4 10mm bolts at each corner of the Mitsubishi Spark Plug Cover.
Then you got the coil packs and leads. remove 3 10mm bolts per coil pack, then pull up on the leads and packs, they might be a bit tight, but thats how theyre meant to be.
Use the Large Spark plug socket on an extension to whip the plugs out. take a look at each plug to make sure theyve been firing right. should look something like this..
Then get the new ones ready. MAKE SURE YOU GAP THEM CORRECTLY, otherwise, too big a gap, the boost will blow the spark out, too small a gap, they wont spark properly!! for these plugs the Gap is set to 0.55. set it with a feeler gauge, and make sure there is a bit of friction when you slide the feeler gauge through, and that the 0.60 cant go in.
Then refit everything in the reverse order.
smear new oil filter with grease/oil on the rubber seal and tighten by HAND. Refit sump plug with new crush washer nice and tight, then fill with oil.
Lower car down off axel stands, check level (on flat ground), start engine and let it run for 15 seconds. check level again and top up as required.
Didnt take any pics of putting it back together as there was quite a large grey cloud coming my way
This was then followed by a nice wash, and when i went to leather it off....the usual...it started ****ing down!!!!!
anyways, main job was done for another 4K,
