And here it is..... My new Mini GP Gen 1, Number 0670.

I picked it up from Cardiff Saturday morning. After a bit of a nightmare journey & Natwest online banking playing silly bugger all the paperwork was sorted.

The guy I bought the car off made my OCD look like nothing. Everything associated with the car was in folders, labelled boxes. Plus he was such a nice fella, I could happily have gone for a beer with him.

The car is an 2006 '06 with 33500 miles, FMSH & BMW comprehensive warranty for 8mths. Got LOTS of extras, but nothing which isn't Mini/BMW. You wouldn't even notice them unless you were told, but they add up to make a fantastic difference.

Got to say it's in excellent condition. When I picked it up it didn't have the spoiler on the back, so today was give the car a clean & get that back on. The car was mucky after driving all the way home.

So here it is after a good clean & thought I'd take a pic before I popped the spoiler back on....

As tight as poss in the garage

Then popped the spoiler on as well as the tiny aerial.

It's so much fun to be back in a proper hot hatch again.

Unfortunately it's been damp or wet since picking it up, but it's definitely very quick, I'd say as quick as the Z3M Roadster I had.

The OEM equipment is great too. Heated leather recaros, A/C, LSD & the reason for the nickname, the snap, crackle & pop the exhaust makes. The supercharger whine reminds me of a tie fighter, but have no idea why.

I forgot to take some pics of the interior, but I will.

I'll try & remember all the extras that are on the car too.

Ill be honest I was never a fan, until I went out in our neighbours Works one a few weeks ago. Very nice place to be and the supercharger whine as you say is brilliant.

Love it Lee and I'm jealous as hell. I've been a PX in one and I know how rapid they are. My friend who works at the local BMW/Mini showroom has me on the top of their waiting list when one comes in. Good choice my friend.;)

That looks awesome. From what I've seen online there's loads of parts available for these

Awesome. I like these a lot. My old boss had a Cooper S Works and it was just as quick as my EP3 in real life. Fun cars.

Cheers guys.

Yeah, it's the supercharged 1.6. There are quite a few differences over an S & even JCW.

No rear seats, just a brace.
I'll get some interior pics at the weekend. If the weather is nice it'll be getting a good waxing.

Very nice car Monkface, love the spoilers on these. I had a tear up with a colleague who has a modded Cooper S and I couldn't catch it.

Get yourself a smaller pulley for the S/C, on the Cooper S it adds 10-15bhp, simple swap and you will see a bit more powah!

Pretty sure this will also apply to the JCW http://www.minisport2.com/mini-parts/info_NMPPULS.html

These thing have masses of potential if you're willing to spend a few quid. Lower pulley is a good start. More efficient intercooler, remaps using Bluefin etc.

Mine has a smaller pulley than the JCWs mate.
Any tuning would be catcam, janspeed mani & sports cat & remap, but that'll void my warranty.
I'm going to ask about the manifold & if I can change this & not void my warranty.

GP inter cooler is better than any aftermarket inter coolers on offer as it differs from the rest even the JCWs.

Cool mini bro! What's the GP bit add?

Heated recaros, stripped rear seats replaced by brace, aluminium rear control arms, updated brakes, injectors, inter cooler, head & ecu, bespoke colour, bespoke interior colourings, spoiler, wheels, JCW catback, springs & dampers.
