Your AEM questions answered.

Short ram anyone? lol. these posts have made my mind up though, until i can afford a gruppe m

What's the point of buying a different induction kit if you're going to save up for a Gruppe M anyway? Surely that will just be delaying your purchase?

only because i still cant come to terms with the 700+ notes for an induction kit, you got to admit (i know it's the best:cool:) but that is a big hit on the pocket

Buy a used one then. ;)

I have had three, not one of them has been bought new.

apparently from what i have gathered from this forum they are like rocking horse poo second hand.
how much would i be looking at second hand? i know they shouldnt be worth alot but because of demand i can see them still asking for a fair amount  but....I WANT ONE lol

They come up quite often actually. The only problem is they don't hang around for long.

Oh really, I better keep an eye out then. Do they use their own type of filter or is it a K&N one? Also is it a K&N on the AEMs?

quick question, whats the difference between the short ram AEM V1 and the V2 apart from just under £100 and the colour? is there much difference between the two in gain wise? i have seen something about a dual chamber

I had a aem v2 fitted at abp yesterday and the sound is awesome im well chuffed didnt notice much difference in performance apart from it revs a little quicker through VTEC but im well happy with it.:D

What's this got to do with the AEM, the product this sticky is regarding?

All manufacturers claim 12-14hp gains on intakes, when some actually lose power. NO manufucturer should be trusted, only independent tests on known cars and known dynos.

are forums not about alternatives/discussions?
the dyno was done at jam sport in northampton so is that not a public dyno?

Yes they are, in appropriate threads. This thread is about the AEM, and AEM only questions, not someone wanting to push products they can supply. If you want to discuss the Pipercross, start your own thread. Don't link to Civinfo, as you have to be registered on there to view any attachments. Post all relevant info on here, but not in a sticky specific to a particular product/products.

And yes Jamsport's dyno is public. Do I personally know the dyno, the car, the operator? No. Can dyno's be shown to have gains whatever? Yes.

IF this kit shows gains on an independent test, with a trusted dyno operator, then great. Until then, it's to be taken with a pinch of salt.
