I thought I would have a change from the FD2 before I have the new CTR next year . Got this one today.

Noise, Recaros, that spoiler, popping flames.....these cars are just plain awesome. The Civic will have to be something special to rival this IMO.

Very nice! Like the colour combo with the wheels.

Did you trade the FD2 in? Is a lovely example for someone.

Be interested to get your impressions on an owner comparison between the FD and the RS. Not so Mitch a which is better or anything as I am sure they are both so different. Just general thoughts. Looks good though. Much prefer that white to the more in your face colours.

There was an Acid Green one of these when I was training recently and it looked stunning. Sounded mental too, think it was a Miltek system(?). I do like the RS and I did think about one before the Teg.

Very nice, as has been said good choice on the colour. :smt023

I went looking at an ST today and found it quite surprising in a pleasant way. Funnily enough the dealer showing me the RenaultSport earlier in the day spent most of the test drive gushing about RSs.

I too would be interested in what you think of it following on from the FD2.

It's a completely different car to the FD2 ,some sort of power under the hood. It seems like a good mix of a nice sounding motor and a good handling car.
Onto your problem of car choice ,the FD2 is a hard act to follow I think. I've had the fast VAG stuff, forget them ,just no love for them.I've done the fast 4wd rally reps , fast but not that much fun. French stuff = rubbish .
Type R's I've had 2 x FD2, CW FN2 , DC5 and EP3. Fun cars but I needed a change before next years CTR comes out.
So onto the RS . I think you need 100% to go and drive one .I think it may just be what your looking for, was told it's a different animal to the ST.
Hope that helps.

Test drove one of these before buying the FN2. As great as they look, and they do look very good, I just didnt gel with it. I felt the interior was just to similar to a normal focus with some buckets bolted in to the original seat runners, meaning the seats sat to high. Also was put off by the tyres im told it goes through. That worried me a bit. I would still like to own one one day as a 2nd car. But it would have to be green.

I actually sat in one that was in for PDI at Ford and I've driven my mates MY08 ST, I've never understood the whole sitting too high thing. I actually thought they were alright.

That looks awesome. There was a lime green one at a car dealer where I was looking at an EP3 Type R. Really liked it, and thought the matching green Recaros looked great.

Nice. I do like the Focus RS, MK1 and MK2 alike. I have a soft spot for classic and performance Fords, my first car was a MK4 1.3 Escort Bonus. Loved it. Drove a MK2 Focus RS once, highly tuned on low boost producing about 350bhp. Was quick but wasnt for me in that it 'felt' too refined and modern but that's personal preference and I am an old stick in the mud for anything younger than 5 years or so. (Apart from push irons!)

Thought about one if these myself, but dont like all the 'H&S' added bull with new cars these days. They just seem too 'safe' and disconnected in comparison to anything pre ~2000 really. Dunno if im just on my own with this one.....? They are just too safe!

Fapped a GTR round oulton last month and as stonking as it went it was left me flat as a fart.

Old man syndrome, but they just dont make em like they used to.

I really like these.
Out of interest, i see you've owned plenty of decent cars but don't like french cars.
Have you owned a 250/265 rs megane?
You'd be surprised how good they are.

Trouble with the French stuff is that the dealer will spend more time fixing it than you will driving it.

I've always thought the same, hence why i bought my Ep3 over the clio cup i was considering.
Girl at work has a Megane 250 Rs (remapped to 300bhp) though & has not had one problem with it in two years.

I do like the Focus Rs's though.
There was a well sorted one at Donington when i went earlier in the year & it was going really well.
Are you planning on modding it, theres a big tuning market for these?
