Can anyone give me any hard facts on NCB and if they expire at all ??
I've had a look about but tend to get differing, inaccurate information.
This is the thing, someone told me a while ago that if you don't have a valid insurance policy on a car for more than two years you will lose any previously accrued NCB's.
So, if you sell your car, cancel it or let a policy expire, go travelling for say two years then return to and try to insure a new vehicle your old NCB's become invalid.
Another question that then rages from this, is when do they start the two year clock ?? From the end of your last full years policy ? Or when you cancel your old policy.
So If I sold a car and cancelled my policy in May 2012 , does the clock start then or does it count from my last complete year Policy, which would have been in March 2012 ? Meaning that I'm currently at 12 months of the 24.
I'll be damned if I lose 10 years no claims bonus on a stupid thing like this all because I'm being lazy.
Any help from any Insurance companies or anyone in the know would be very helpful.
TIA.
