Danga's Satin CTR "Bullet"

:)

Yet it seems our efforts were in vain as the guy who promised me he would swap his OEM suspension the day he received my coilovers decided to leave it until the weekend to do the work, and thus Eurospec won't get his standard suspension to fit to my car until Wednesday and by then I'd have racked up £280 plus VAT for storage.

Really miffed at him for letting me down, but also at Eurospec in a way. Granted they are a business and they have a ramp out of action whilst my car is stuck on it, but on the other side of the fence is the fact that I've been a loyal customer (regardless of their fvck-ups from time to time) for 5 years and I just don't "feel the love" as it were. Disappointed that they'd feel the need to charge me in all honesty.

£280?! Storage !! Why wouldn't you go to Tgm ?

I got your text will be in touch this week. Off a week Monday so may swoop by ;)

Hi Stuart, that charge is £70 per day plus VAT... :(

Didn't book it in with TGM as just expected them to be too busy as I didn't give much notice (as I wasn't sure when I'd be ready to drop the car off). Live and learn, sadly.

Cheers Ed, rattle cans can do decent jobs in the right hands.....mine just need a bit more training

You don't appear to be having much luck dude, but yeah, they're ultimately going to be doing the work and they've earned a fair wedge off you, so I agree, they should at least accommodate a little better and look after their customers.

Needs MOAR LOWAR and RED H and TYRE GEL. imo.

Nice effort. I did mine back in the day. They were awesome. Lasted perfectly too. You just need the right LAQ.

Cheers dude.

I have considered buying some 25mm drop springs funnily enough (doubt the Civic will be going anytime soon ). I've got the Red H's ready (will be put on once I've got the extra coats of paint and lacquer on) and I tyre blacked it after I cleaned all the muck off but it was over cast so couldn't see it that well in the photo.

I bought the Halfords bodyshop lacquer, doesn't apply very well though.

Car's in for a basic service (they want an extra £100 to fit filters and use some magic injector cleaner), and reported cracked front drop link, front brake pads need changing and my rear wiper has split.....that'll be £257.50 please. Errr fúck no! I'll pay for decent parts from a local Japanese car part specialist and fit them all myself and save circa £210 and that includes the air filter and pollen filter

Liking the wheels mate. The trick with lacquer out of a spray can is to warm the can in a bucket of warm (not hot!) water first, it comes out much better.

I've given up on Honda dealerships after my last mot cost £800! Granted it was unwise to say "just fix what needs fixing and mot it", they went to town on it. Fixed every little niggle they could find, most of which were not required for mot.

DIY FTW.

The can of lacquer was pretty warm anyway as it had been in my living room, only really needs to be warmed up if it's cold I've found out (was grilling a friend who does body repairs and shizz like that). I'll try getting it 'kin hot next time, may work betterer.

 well my dealership is pretty good tbf, if you go in knowing what you want they don't pressure me or anything. They just tend to wrap their services in glitter to make you want it, I appreciate it's a business that needs to earn money but I just pay £100 for them to empty the oil, refill and stamp a book. And they're very aware of this lol.

Going to be interesting doing the ARB on my own though, I've heard they can be under tension and may catch me out.

Boring update, back in 2012 an MOT brought up that one of the shocks had excessive play in the "sliding gland", well since then it's been serviced and MOT'd by Honda rather than that garage and it's not been brought up since. Well I bought the shock to replace it and I had bought the wrong one by mistake, so recently bought another with the intention of replacing both.

Car in the air today, suspension is fine  so I've now got two brand new Euro carpart shocks sitting around.

Although, I've had the front drop links replaced and the brake/clutch fluid changed. Feels so much better already.

Sorry to hear about your faulty sliding gland. Though I'm glad to hear you have had a fluid evacuation and an improvement in stiffness.

 It's amazing how far you can push a good metaphor, isn't it?
