K20 FTW.. Essentially, more JDM than a Tsunami

Impressive piping my man - feels great to unsheath that wrapping don't it.I don't envy you at all though. I've got partial tinitus from the FEEL's - so good luck with yours

I think Karl will be rocking a pair of full blown hearing aids after a coupe days lol.

Truly awesome

Need a tunnel run once you're done especially as i won't see it at JAE.

Indeed. Will get one arranged once it's done; will post in the existing Southend run thread :smt023

Nice finish there, I've got to put the Ducati exhaust in to them this winter.

Thanks Doodle. What finish will you be going for? An OEM style silver/ black?

Looks nice.

I bet the noise will pish you off though.

I'm a firm believer that it shouldn't, it's not a daily so should still get the lolz at the weekends

Very like my RRC but mines only wrinkled

awesome mate

That looks great, especially like that they match. :) Mine should match my intake, hopefully.

Firstly I want your car when it's finished, secondly I want your bank balance. Some quality work going on here.

You may say that but you may think twice when the lack of socialising is realised  And I'm afraid in the words of Terry's chocolate oranges, you can't have it, it's mine!

Awesome, full J's system FTW

You're like the louder EP3 brother to my DC5 :)

:smt023 Cheers mate, will have a proper gander at your spec again. Know you've got plenty of J's bits but have forgotten.

WTF it's here! Amazing!!

Oh yesh!

Awesome mate, mega awesome. You down Eurospec now? Give the guys a kiss from me.

Its going to be mega loud but sick y0!

Hey Jay, you alright?! Yeah, was at Eurospec earlier dropping it off and giving them the "to do" list

That exhaust is something else. :eek:mg:

Cheers mate. Can't wait for it to be on!

Stunning exhaust and the RBC looks superb in that finish, it'll look great in the bay. Great work!

Thanks dude  I'm really excited about picking her up already, and I've just dropped her off!

This better all be on the car in time for JAE. Even if it isn't, bring it along and we'll fit it for you!

Brows.

Farking lol! Thanks for the offer ;) But it should all be on and ready in time :D

Thanks for the luck Sun, I have a feeling I might need it! It was great opening the wrapping, then drooling over the shiney awesomeness that it was!

I think Karl will be rocking a pair of full blown hearing aids after a coupe days lol.

About fecking time! That exhaust looks like it is going to sound absolutely bonkers.

No, not hearing aids. Not yet anyway. Perhaps a pair of those massive industrial ear defenders.

I can hook you up with some ear defenders, you just have to deal with them stuck to a BT helmet:lol:

This is going to be THE car to be perved on at JAE i swear.

Thanks Doodle. What finish will you be going for? An OEM style silver/ black?

Yeah, standard black finish for headers and collector, leaving the Ti can as is. It's more for looks than anything, the Termignoni pipework goes a rather nasty shade of brown and is always in the firing line from front and rear wheels :(

just read through your whole thread! what a stunning spec list, yet it still looks subtle from the outside! (minus the pink/purple wheels)

exhaust looks nuts!!

Sean

I forgot to add, fitting the RBC with the J's intake (at least for the DC5) is a right PITA. I'll be interested to see what solution you come up in terms of induction hose.

From what i remeber reading this setup easily exceeds 120db. I think its the loudest system for the Ep3?

Now that would look super sexy  Can't think of a better look to rock out with to be fair

And perve all you wish, just aim the aftermath away from the car haha!

That's not what you want, rust sucks. Or, at least, rusty looking discolouration in your case if left untreated. Should look tasty though, I'm really please with the finish.

I want to see this exhaust once it's had a few heat cycles.. Blue Ti FTW...

Sorry to disappoint you Scott, but it's the stainless steel version, so don't think there'll be any blue tips :( Which is poo as I thought they coloured the steel ones to match the Ti version but obviously the finish peeling off of the steel ones has forced J's to stop adding this to newer versions...

The whole thread in one sitting? Must have taken you an age! Hope you had a decent coffee on the go  But thank you, all comments appreciated.

Erm, well I've got a SFS hose that I don't mind if they have to slice it up to get it to fit properly. I had to shave some sections off of it just to fit the intake in the first place so shaving more off shouldn't hurt.

Finally!!

Thats going to sound insane! I think you will have a headache everyday

and the neighbours

From what i remeber reading this setup easily exceeds 120db. I think its the loudest system for the Ep3?

Ha! Well, as I've said, it's not a daily so I'm sure I'll be fine. That, or I'll take Darren up on his BT helmet offer

But yes it is the loudest system available for the EP3; and it's the second generation version which has a 70mm piping the whole way down from the downpipe, but then it tapers out to 80mm for the last 8 inches or so. I've also had varying opinions on the volume, but ranging from 110dB up to and beyond 130dB!!!

Neighbours? Meh... Not as if I'll be revving the t*ts off of it on my drive.

Hey Jay, you alright?! Yeah, was at Eurospec earlier dropping it off and giving them the "to do" list

Cheers mate. Can't wait for it to be on!

Ah the infamous "to do lists" lol. Ben must love them now. When you going back to pick it up? Im going on Saturday to get Ricks Turbo ATR remapped now ive put a build engine and GT3076 on it. :)

Im good mate ta, just been busy as fook but thought id pop on and see how your car was getting on. I sold my 360 and bought a nice CW DC2 last weekend, still got the ATR but the gearbox is off as i need to fix reverse but been to busy getting ricks ready.

Were heading over to the ring 1st/2nd/3rd October, you should bring your Civic.

Your going to be rocking these soon :) - Go with your Wheels :)

I can imagine you'll be bulk buying these too!!

How amazing are those earmuffs?! haha. Although I can't imagine they'd offer that much protection against the decibels, merely just look awesome matching my front wheels

And very funny, yet I may be able to get headache tablets on prescription to keep the costs down ;)

If everything goes according to plan, which I doubt with my luck, but if it does, then I should be picking it up on Saturday so if that's the case I'll see you there! You seem to have a dab hand at this engine malarky now, how much power is Rick aiming for? As much as/ higher than yours?

What made you get rid of the 360? And is the DC2 just going to be an interim whilst your ATR is getting the gearbox sorted or do you have big plans for it? If it's going to be a daily, I'm still taking bets on how long it'll take before you buy something for it

Re: the 'Ring, I'd love to! Although with this impending cost I doubt I'll have the funds at such short notice. There will be a TRO 'Ring trip 2012 around April so I hear; which I'm sure I'll be attending.

Indeed Mike, I couldn't agree more. I'll hopefully be taking my car to Brands Hatch on the HOT trackday to get it tested so I can verify the noise it produces.

Mate you should get those ear muff and just hang them in your car! :)

Awesome, i get to hear it for real, if we get time you can take me for a spin  - Dont worry i'll bring my own ear muffs!

360 Spyder was just for the summer really, i ended up having a service on it, 2 sets of rear tyres, it ate them! Had it from April to last week, kinda miss it but dont miss the fuel bill, £1300 in 3/4 months!!

DC2 is a daily, its replacing the Golf TDI ive got. Thats on eBay at the moment. Its stock apart from Oil temp/Pressure/Vac gauges and H&R suspension. Ive done my first mod (small front plate) - But its staying stock, im putting a de-cat on it as the CAT is shot to bits and rattling like ****, and some idiot decided to put a Blueprint clutch in it last year, it cant hold the power down so i need to put in an F1 or Exedy. But its staying as it is, only costs me £10 more in fuel over the Golf a week, which for the fun factor you cant complain, just gotta make sure you dont VTEC its all the time lol. I'll probs take it to the ring, rather than taking the ATR, there a high chance i will go flat out and end up stacking it  and id really need to trailer the ATR over - I'll keep an eye for that then as i'd like to take the ATR next year.

Ricks is expecting 350 - 400hp. Build engine with GT3076R. He has been waiting too long now, it ran fine with stock engine and GT28 turbo at 265hp & 240lbft but wasnt enough for him after he went out in mine again

Doing another one after Ricks, my best mate's. :)

You should get yours on the dyno so we can hear it - only 3 more sleeps!

Indeed Mike, I couldn't agree more. I'll hopefully be taking my car to Brands Hatch on the HOT trackday to get it tested so I can verify the noise it produces.

Your taking it to Brands Hatch, but thats about it - Sorry Sir, no Jet Fighters allowed on the track!

That actually made me laugh, as I can just imagine it being said!

And wow, that certainly isn't a shy fuel bill! Not suprised that you don't miss it, haha! Must have been fun to own though, even if it was for a short while.

Sure by the way, if mine is ready for Saturday then I'll be happy to take you for an ear raping; I mean a spin. ;)

Another project straight after Ricks'? There'll be a huge gang of mental turbo'd monsters running around your way soon! :p Although with a "paultry" 400bhp, you'll still be King.

In regards to the DC2, only £10 extra a week for the massive extra grin factor is very good going really; although keeping out of vtec is likely to be harder than you hoped. Your description made me chuckle. It's standard apart from this, this, and this. And it needs this and this, and possibly this. !! But should be a nice little runner once you've sorted out the small niggles. :)
