Is the temprature sitting correct there?

No it seems to have dropped a little when ive switched it back on (straight away). Ive always known it to atleast stay at the normal temp for atleast 5 mins after switch off. Ive got a e46 bmw that stays on half temp half an hour after ive turned it off. Ep3 cools down too quick.

200 miles since my build on my ep3 Facelift 70k on clock 05 REG Build included piston rings Valves Valve stem seals Chain, tensioner and guides Fuchs titan oil Hamps filter After build compression is 180psi on all cylinders Vacuum tested and showing timing is perfect no blockages...

The margin it should be is anything above 134, im not convincing my self that it is right with it showing 20-30 psi less but i feel a little stuck as to what i should do now? The temp is right. The rpms are between 750-800

Yep thats the plan, was going to change the oil and filter after 500miles to be honest. Main thing i want to find out is why its just not reving quick enough. Its like its taking ages to hit the limiter. Vtec definatley kicks in But ive not tried it properly as i dont want to warp anything...

What kind of mistakes Chris? Nuttalls in darwen did the build, i have spoken to them and explained it briefly that we need to re check timing so its going there tomorrow.

Ye i am going to. I'm just worried it could be the bearings on there way out .. there's nothing else I can think of. It's a tapping sound not a knock from what I've gathered. Like WRENNETH said it sounds tappety.. are valves actually pricey to replace ?

Ye pal. He said it could be injectors. He said he can hear the sound of it tapping but couldn't identify what it was and said it's safe to drive. Shown another friend yesterday and he said it sounds like the tappets are noisey. If it was bottom end it wouldn't be drivable at all.

Thanks for your reply. I've shown a friend who's had many hondas and he said to me that it sounds like a valve has been bent.. He was sure it's not bottom end.. If it was would the car still be drivable ? As it stands now the car is pulling fine and going into vtec but it's just that rattle...

£180 I've been quoted from Honda dealers for the sensor I've read many things on this 1-2 second rattle on start up and in some stories for the unfortunate they have bent the valve because the chain has snapped , that's just pure horror there.

I tried em all , the back wheels are catching , so I scrubbed the rust off , but the noise comes from the front , I've not taken type r out recently but will be doing this week , top a 100 and see if the noise is still there, any one around Lancashire who is a Honda specialist? I'm from Blackburn.

Ye, get them done, will cost you about £90 to £100 from dealers or cheaper else where , take it to someone you trust as they need to be done correct and when engine is stone cold . Hope this has helped.
