You checked the oil levels? Mine does the same and it could be because it was running empty on oil for a few miles. Seems to kick in at about 3,000 rpm goes about 3,500 and then kicks again at 5,000 rpm. Noisy and sounds metally. Would be good if you got a second opinion.

June 03 to now is 31K. I expect it to rise quite quickly in the next month or two as I'm out on site a lot. Probably do 2,000 miles a month so could well be 35K by xmas. She might be going then anyway.
