The FK2 seems to have the same issue diesel FN owners have of as soon as you remap the engine you have to factor in the cost of a new clutch.

I take it people have knackered clutches by tuning them? What is it about it that fails?

I'm really surprised that the likes of Competition Clutch etc haven't released anything yet.

I'm really surprised that the likes of Competition Clutch etc haven't released anything yet.

German tuning companies have been mapping them since October but have been restricted by the clutches. They've been slipping at 490NM ish so they've been restricting maps to 480Nm for safety.

It will be a combination of the friction disc and pressure plate, but it doesn't go bang, just slips.

I remember the Vectra VXRs had a similar thing with remaps and slipping clutches. It used to crack their flywheels and they got wise to it very quickly and soon stopped replacing them on warranty turning it into a £2k job to get the clutch and flywheel replaced on them.

It will be the same clutch on the 9G and 10G cars too as they'll have the same engine and drive train. Something will come to market soon, but customers are going to learn the hard way if they start down this road without uprated clutches.

The DMF on these are over a grand as well,
I don't get the urgency on seeking big numbers so early on

Then there was a comment from them about being able to afford upgrades, and then my frank reply to that got deleted too, so I've deleted the rest of my comments because they aren't congruent. CBA with petty crap like that, screenshots were taken but I'll not be pursuing that avenue.

Doubt it mate. The standard GSR only has 276 or so bhp, it's 15 seconds ish off the FK2 time round the ring.
